This is what the Lord says:“ What fault did your ancestors find in me, that they strayed so far from me? They followed worthless idols and became worthless themselves.

耶和华如此说：“你们的列祖见我有什么不义，竟远离我，随从虚无的神，自己成为虚妄的呢？

耶和华如此说：“你们的祖先看我有什么错处，竟远离我，随从那虚无的神明，自己成为虚无呢？

耶和华如此说：“你们的祖先看我有什么错处，竟远离我，随从那虚无的神明，自己成为虚无呢？

耶和华说：“你们的祖先在我身上找到什么过错，以致他们远离我，去追随虚妄的神明，使自己变得虚妄呢？

耶和华这样说：“你们列祖在我身上究竟发现了什么不义，使他们远离我，随从虚无的偶像，自己也成了虚妄呢？

耶和華如此說：你們的列祖見我有甚麼不義，竟遠離我，隨從虛無的神，自己成為虛妄的呢？

耶和華如此說：「你們的祖先看我有甚麼錯處，竟遠離我，隨從那虛無的神明，自己成為虛無呢？

耶和華如此說：「你們的祖先看我有甚麼錯處，竟遠離我，隨從那虛無的神明，自己成為虛無呢？

耶和華說：「你們的祖先在我身上找到什麼過錯，以致他們遠離我，去追隨虛妄的神明，使自己變得虛妄呢？

耶和華這樣說：“你們列祖在我身上究竟發現了甚麼不義，使他們遠離我，隨從虛無的偶像，自己也成了虛妄呢？

永恆主這麼說：『你們列祖見我有甚麼不對，竟遠離了我，去隨從虛無神，而自己成為虛妄呢？

耶和華曰、爾祖視我有何不義、而遐棄我、從事虛無、成為虛妄乎、

耶和華曰、維昔爾祖、見我所為、有何苛政、故背逆予、崇事虛無、所為放誕、

主如是云、昔爾列祖遠離我、從虛無之神、行虛誕之事、曾見我有何不義、

The Lord says,“ What did your people of long ago find wrong with me? Why did they wander so far away from me? They worshiped worthless statues of gods. Then they themselves became worthless.

Thus says the Lord:“ What wrong did your fathers find in me that they went far from me, and went after worthlessness, and became worthless?

This is what the Lord says:“ What did your ancestors find wrong with me that led them to stray so far from me? They worshiped worthless idols, only to become worthless themselves.

This is what the LORD says: What fault did your ancestors find in me that they went so far from me, followed worthless idols, and became worthless themselves?

This is what the Lord says:“ What injustice did your fathers find in Me, That they went far from Me, And walked after emptiness and became empty?

Thus says the Lord:“ What injustice have your fathers found in Me, That they have gone far from Me, Have followed idols, And have become idolaters?

Thus saith Jehovah, What unrighteousness have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain?

This is what the Lord says: What fault did your fathers find in Me that they went so far from Me, followed worthless idols, and became worthless themselves?

Thus saith the LORD, What iniquity have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain?

This is what the Lord says:“ What fault could your ancestors have possibly found in me that they strayed so far from me? They paid allegiance to worthless idols, and so became worthless to me.

Yahweh says,“ What unrighteousness have your fathers found in me, that they have gone far from me, and have walked after worthless vanity, and have become worthless?

They rejected his decrees and the covenant he had made with their ancestors and the statutes he had warned them to keep. They followed worthless idols and themselves became worthless. They imitated the nations around them although the Lord had ordered them,“ Do not do as they do.”

For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.

“ Those who cling to worthless idols turn away from God’s love for them.

They made me jealous by what is no god and angered me with their worthless idols. I will make them envious by those who are not a people; I will make them angry by a nation that has no understanding.

“ Everyone is senseless and without knowledge; every goldsmith is shamed by his idols. The images he makes are a fraud; they have no breath in them.They are worthless, the objects of mockery; when their judgment comes, they will perish.

Those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them.

All who make idols are nothing, and the things they treasure are worthless. Those who would speak up for them are blind; they are ignorant, to their own shame.

Everyone is senseless and without knowledge; every goldsmith is shamed by his idols. The images he makes are a fraud; they have no breath in them.They are worthless, the objects of mockery; when their judgment comes, they will perish.

Do not turn away after useless idols. They can do you no good, nor can they rescue you, because they are useless.

“ Hear, you mountains, the Lord’s accusation; listen, you everlasting foundations of the earth. For the Lord has a case against his people; he is lodging a charge against Israel.“ My people, what have I done to you? How have I burdened you? Answer me.

“ Friends, why are you doing this? We too are only human, like you. We are bringing you good news, telling you to turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made the heavens and the earth and the sea and everything in them.

“ Now you dwellers in Jerusalem and people of Judah, judge between me and my vineyard.What more could have been done for my vineyard than I have done for it? When I looked for good grapes, why did it yield only bad?

“ You of this generation, consider the word of the Lord:“ Have I been a desert to Israel or a land of great darkness? Why do my people say,‘ We are free to roam; we will come to you no more’?

Do any of the worthless idols of the nations bring rain? Do the skies themselves send down showers? No, it is you, Lord our God. Therefore our hope is in you, for you are the one who does all this.

The Lord says:“ These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is based on merely human rules they have been taught.

They are all senseless and foolish; they are taught by worthless wooden idols.

“‘ These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.

You have planted them, and they have taken root; they grow and bear fruit. You are always on their lips but far from their hearts.

“ Son of man, the people of Jerusalem have said of your fellow exiles and all the other Israelites,‘ They are far away from the Lord; this land was given to us as our possession.’

“ Yet you have not called on me, Jacob, you have not wearied yourselves for me, Israel.You have not brought me sheep for burnt offerings, nor honored me with your sacrifices. I have not burdened you with grain offerings nor wearied you with demands for incense.
