他照着自己的旨意，藉着真理的话语生了我们，要使我们在他所造的万物中成为一种初熟的果子。

看哪！对你发怒的，都必蒙羞受辱；与你相争的，都如同无有，必要灭亡。

这些人没有与女人在一起而玷污自己，实际上他们是童身；无论羔羊到哪里去，他们都跟随他；这些人是从人间被赎回来，做为初熟的果子归给神和羔羊的；

就如他从创世以前，在基督里拣选了我们，使我们在他面前成为圣洁、毫无瑕疵。他在爱中，

我对我的子民发怒，使我的继业被亵渎，又把他们交在你的手中；你却没有对他们施怜悯，即使对老年人，你也把你的轭重重地压在他们身上。

如果初熟的麦子是圣洁的，那面团也就圣洁了；如果树根是圣洁的，那树枝也就圣洁了。

但你们属于蒙拣选的族类、君王的祭司体系、圣洁的国度，是属神的子民；为要使你们宣扬曾召唤你们的那一位的美德——他召唤你们出黑暗，入他奇妙的光明。

他又使敌人的心转去恨他的子民，用诡计对付他的仆人们。他派遣了他的仆人摩西，以及他所拣选的亚伦；两人将他的神迹行在埃及人中间，将奇事行在含族之地。他发出黑暗，使那地黑暗；谁也没有违背他的话。他把他们的水变成血，使他们的鱼都死了。他们的地上、甚至他们君王的内室，都爬满了青蛙。他一发话，成群的苍蝇就来，蚊虫遍满他们的全境。他在他们的全境降下冰雹为雨、闪电为火。他击打他们的葡萄树和无花果树，打断他们境内的树木。他一发话，蝗虫和蚂蚱就来，数不胜数，吃尽他们地上的一切植物，吃尽他们土地的出产。他又击杀他们地上所有的长子，就是他们强壮时头生的。

我就片刻间制伏他们的仇敌，转手对付他们的敌人。”恨耶和华的人将向他卑躬屈膝，愿他们受罚的日子直到永远。
