盜見獲則愧恥、以色列家、與其君王牧伯、祭司先知、愧恥亦若是、

盜被執則愧恥、以色列族、王公、祭司、先知、庶民、無不懹慙、亦若是。

“ As a thief is disgraced when he is caught, so the people of Israel are disgraced— they, their kings and their officials, their priests and their prophets.

『現在呢、我們的上帝啊，至大、至有能力、至可畏懼、守約守堅愛的上帝啊，我們、我們的王和首領、我們的祭司和神言人、我們的列祖和你的眾民、從亞述列王的日子直到今日所遭遇的一切艱難困苦、求你不要看為小事。雖然如此、關於一切臨到我們的事、你總是對的；因為你所行的是誠信，我們所作的是邪惡。我們的王、我們的首領和祭司、以及我們的列祖、都不遵行你的律法，不留心聽從你的誡命法令、你所鄭重警諭他們的。

自從我們列祖的日子到今天、我們的罪過都很大；並且為了我們的罪愆的緣故，我們和我們的王、跟祭司、都被交於四圍各地的列王手中，交於刀劍之下，被擄掠、被搶奪、滿臉蒙羞，正如今日一樣。

這是因為以色列人和猶大人一切的壞事，就是他們、他們的列王和首領、他們的祭司和神言人、以及猶大的人和耶路撒冷的居民所行，來惹我發怒的。

賊因饑餓而偷竊、去充饑，人不藐視他麼？他若被發覺，就須七倍償還；將他家中所有的財物都交出來。

因為你們必因所喜愛的聖篤耨香樹而抱愧，必因所選擇的園林龕而蒙羞。

我們也沒有聽從你僕人、眾神言人們、那些奉你名向我們的王和首領跟父老及國中眾民說了話的人。主啊，你是對的，是我們滿面蒙羞，正如今日一樣；慚愧的是猶大人，是耶路撒冷居民，是以色列眾人、無論近處或遠處、在你趕逐他們到之各地的，都因他們對你表現了不忠實。永恆主啊，是我們滿臉蒙羞：慚愧的是我們的王、和首領跟父老，因為我們犯罪得罪了你。

從我們幼年以來那可恥的偶像就把我們列祖所勞碌得來的羊羣牛羣和兒女都吞喫了。我們躺臥在羞恥中吧！願慚愧將我們遮蓋住吧！因為我們犯罪得罪了永恆主我們的上帝了，我們和我們的列祖、從我們幼年、一直到今日：我們總沒有聽從永恆主我們的上帝的聲音。』

那麼、你們當時得了甚麼果子呢？無非是你們如今所看為羞恥的事罷了：那些事的結局就是死。

以色列不曾成了你譏笑的對象麼？他哪是在賊類中被查出，以致你每逢提到他、總是搖頭晃腦呢？

你為甚麼這樣東奔西跑，要改變你的路呢？你必因埃及而蒙羞，像你因亞述而蒙羞一樣。
