“我们的神啊，你是至大、全能、至可畏、守约施慈爱的神，现在求你不要把我们、我们的君王和领袖、我们的祭司和先知、我们的列祖和你的众民，从亚述列王的日子直到今日所遭遇的一切苦难，看为小事。在一切临到我们身上的事上，你都是公义的；因为你所行的是信实的，我们所行的是邪恶的。我们的君王和领袖，我们的祭司和列祖，都没有遵行你的律法，也没有留心听从你的诫命和你向他们郑重的警告。

你们必因你们所喜爱的橡树抱愧，必因你们所选择的园子蒙羞。

没有听从你的仆人众先知，他们奉你的名向我们的君王、领袖、列祖和国中所有的人民说话。主啊！你是公义的；我们满面羞愧，正如今日的光景；我们犹大人、耶路撒冷的居民，和被你赶逐到远近各地的以色列众人，都因对你不忠而满面羞愧。耶和华啊！我们和我们的君王、领袖、列祖，都满面羞愧，因为我们得罪了你。

从我们幼年以来，我们列祖劳苦得来的，他们的牛羊，他们的儿女，都给那可耻的偶像吞掉了。但愿我们躺卧在羞耻中，让惭愧遮盖着我们！因为我们得罪了耶和华我们的神，从我们幼年直到现在，我们和列祖都没有听从耶和华我们的神的话。”

那么，你们在现今以为羞耻的事上，当时得了什么呢？那些事的结局就是死。

摩押啊，以色列不是曾经成为你讥笑的对象吗？它岂是被捕获的强盗，以致你每逢提到它，总是摇头嘲笑。

你为什么要东奔西跑，改变你的路向呢？你必因埃及蒙羞，像你从前因亚述受辱一样。
