爾足勿跣、爾喉勿渴、惟爾曰、無望也、蓋我慕外、必從之矣、

我说：‘你不要使脚上无鞋，喉咙干渴。’你倒说：‘这是枉然。我喜爱别神，我必随从他们。’”

勿作惡、以致足跣口渴。然爾曰、毋庸勸我、崇他上帝、弗能已焉。

Do not run until your feet are bare and your throat is dry. But you said,‘ It’s no use! I love foreign gods, and I must go after them.’

Do not run after other gods until your sandals are worn out and your throat is dry. But you said,‘ It’s no use! I love those gods. I must go after them.’

Keep your feet from going unshod and your throat from thirst. But you said,‘ It is hopeless, for I have loved foreigners, and after them I will go.’

When will you stop running? When will you stop panting after other gods? But you say,‘ Save your breath. I’m in love with these foreign gods, and I can’t stop loving them now!’

崇事異族之神、以觸其忌、行作可憎之事、以激其怒、

爾干罪於爾上帝耶和華、奔馳諸路、在諸綠樹之下、崇事他神、不從我言、當自認爾罪、耶和華言之矣、

夫我儕以望而得救、然既見之望、非望也、蓋既見之、孰猶望之乎、

惟彼曰、無望也、我必從己所謀、各徇惡心之剛愎而行、○

抑輕褻其宏大之慈惠寬容恆忍、不知上帝之慈惠導爾改悔乎、乃任爾剛愎、罔有悛心、積怒厥躬、以至上帝震怒、顯其義鞫之日、

遂呼曰、我祖亞伯拉罕乎、矜恤我、遣拉撒路以指尖蘸水涼我舌、蓋我在此火燄中苦甚、

免我褫而裸之、俾如初生之日、使之如曠野、如暵地、因渴而死、

聞此詛言、猶中心自慰曰、我雖剛愎自用、渴時痛飲、亦可獲安、若此者、耶和華必不赦宥、其怒與忌、如烟之出、必攻斯人、以書所載之詛、加乎其身、塗其名於天下、

耶和華論斯民曰、彼喜妄行、不禁厥足、故耶和華不納之、今必念其愆尤、罰其罪戾、

亞哈斯王困苦之際、愈干犯耶和華、

爾必饑渴、裸裎、匱乏、服役於敵、耶和華所遣攻爾者、彼以鐵軛置於爾頸、迨爾滅亡、

我必成我口所言、焚香灌奠於天后、循我及我祖、我王、我牧伯、在猶大諸邑、及耶路撒冷街衢所為、蓋其時我儕足食晏安、不遘災禍、

道途迢遞、不免困憊、然未言無望、手復得力、故不疲乏、

父語諸僕曰、速取至美之袍衣之、施環於其指、納履於其足、

如爾意謂、我遭斯事曷故、乃因爾之罪愆重大、爾裙被揭、爾踵受傷、

哺乳之嬰、厥舌燥渴而黏腭兮、稚子求餅、無人擘而予之兮、

蓋爾民雅各家、充乎東方之俗、效非利士人為巫覡、且與異邦結盟、故爾棄之、
