“ Go and proclaim in the hearing of Jerusalem:“ This is what the Lord says:“‘ I remember the devotion of your youth, how as a bride you loved me and followed me through the wilderness, through a land not sown.

爾往、向耶路撒冷呼曰、耶和華云、我憶爾少年之戀慕、和親之愛情、彼時爾從我於野、未經耕種之地、

俾我告耶路撒冷人、宣播其言、曰、我憶在昔、邦國肇造、爾行於野、無人耕種之地、當時我眷愛爾、若納聘之幼女。

爾往哉、向耶路撒冷居民、大聲宣告曰、主如是云、我憶爾幼時從我在野、無人耕種之地、當時爾慕我、愛我、如新婦之愛新娶者、當時爾慕我愛我如新婦之愛新娶者或作當時我施恩於爾愛爾如新婦

“ Go. Announce my message to the people in Jerusalem. I want everyone to hear it. Tell them,“ Here is what the Lord says.“‘ I remember how faithful you were to me when you were young. You loved me as if you were my bride. You followed me through the desert. Nothing had been planted there.

“ Go and proclaim in the hearing of Jerusalem, Thus says the Lord,“ I remember the devotion of your youth, your love as a bride, how you followed me in the wilderness, in a land not sown.

“ Go and shout this message to Jerusalem. This is what the Lord says:“ I remember how eager you were to please me as a young bride long ago, how you loved me and followed me even through the barren wilderness.

“ Go and announce directly to Jerusalem that this is what the LORD says: I remember the loyalty of your youth, your love as a bride— how you followed me in the wilderness, in a land not sown.

“ Go and proclaim in the ears of Jerusalem, saying,‘ This is what the Lord says:“ I remember regarding you the devotion of your youth, Your love when you were a bride, Your following after Me in the wilderness, Through a land not sown.

“ Go and cry in the hearing of Jerusalem, saying,‘ Thus says the Lord:“ I remember you, The kindness of your youth, The love of your betrothal, When you went after Me in the wilderness, In a land not sown.

Go, and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith Jehovah, I remember for thee the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals; how thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.

“ Go and announce directly to Jerusalem that this is what the Lord says: I remember the loyalty of your youth, your love as a bride— how you followed Me in the wilderness, in a land not sown.

Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land[ that was] not sown.

“ Go and declare in the hearing of the people of Jerusalem:‘ This is what the LORD says:“ I have fond memories of you, how devoted you were to me in your early years. I remember how you loved me like a new bride; you followed me through the wilderness, through a land that had never been planted.

“ Go and proclaim in the ears of Jerusalem, saying,‘ Yahweh says,“ I remember for you the kindness of your youth, the love of your weddings; how you went after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.

“‘ Later I passed by, and when I looked at you and saw that you were old enough for love, I spread the corner of my garment over you and covered your naked body. I gave you my solemn oath and entered into a covenant with you, declares the Sovereign Lord, and you became mine.

Yet I will remember the covenant I made with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish an everlasting covenant with you.

The Lord your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has watched over your journey through this vast wilderness. These forty years the Lord your God has been with you, and you have not lacked anything.

When Moses went and told the people all the Lord’s words and laws, they responded with one voice,“ Everything the Lord has said we will do.”Moses then wrote down everything the Lord had said. He got up early the next morning and built an altar at the foot of the mountain and set up twelve stone pillars representing the twelve tribes of Israel.Then he sent young Israelite men, and they offered burnt offerings and sacrificed young bulls as fellowship offerings to the Lord.Moses took half of the blood and put it in bowls, and the other half he splashed against the altar.Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read it to the people. They responded,“ We will do everything the Lord has said; we will obey.”Moses then took the blood, sprinkled it on the people and said,“ This is the blood of the covenant that the Lord has made with you in accordance with all these words.”

They did not ask,‘ Where is the Lord, who brought us up out of Egypt and led us through the barren wilderness, through a land of deserts and ravines, a land of drought and utter darkness, a land where no one travels and no one lives?’

There I will give her back her vineyards, and will make the Valley of Achor a door of hope. There she will respond as in the days of her youth, as in the day she came up out of Egypt.

“ Stand at the gate of the Lord’s house and there proclaim this message:“‘ Hear the word of the Lord, all you people of Judah who come through these gates to worship the Lord.

The Lord said to me,“ Proclaim all these words in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem:‘ Listen to the terms of this covenant and follow them.

I will tell of the kindnesses of the Lord, the deeds for which he is to be praised, according to all the Lord has done for us— yes, the many good things he has done for Israel, according to his compassion and many kindnesses.He said,“ Surely they are my people, children who will be true to me”; and so he became their Savior.In all their distress he too was distressed, and the angel of his presence saved them. In his love and mercy he redeemed them; he lifted them up and carried them all the days of old.Yet they rebelled and grieved his Holy Spirit. So he turned and became their enemy and he himself fought against them.Then his people recalled the days of old, the days of Moses and his people— where is he who brought them through the sea, with the shepherd of his flock? Where is he who set his Holy Spirit among them,who sent his glorious arm of power to be at Moses’ right hand, who divided the waters before them, to gain for himself everlasting renown,who led them through the depths? Like a horse in open country, they did not stumble;like cattle that go down to the plain, they were given rest by the Spirit of the Lord. This is how you guided your people to make for yourself a glorious name.

Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the wilderness these forty years, to humble and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands.

By day you led them with a pillar of cloud, and by night with a pillar of fire to give them light on the way they were to take.“ You came down on Mount Sinai; you spoke to them from heaven. You gave them regulations and laws that are just and right, and decrees and commands that are good.You made known to them your holy Sabbath and gave them commands, decrees and laws through your servant Moses.In their hunger you gave them bread from heaven and in their thirst you brought them water from the rock; you told them to go in and take possession of the land you had sworn with uplifted hand to give them.“ But they, our ancestors, became arrogant and stiff- necked, and they did not obey your commands.They refused to listen and failed to remember the miracles you performed among them. They became stiff-necked and in their rebellion appointed a leader in order to return to their slavery. But you are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love. Therefore you did not desert them,even when they cast for themselves an image of a calf and said,‘ This is your god, who brought you up out of Egypt,’ or when they committed awful blasphemies.“ Because of your great compassion you did not abandon them in the wilderness. By day the pillar of cloud did not fail to guide them on their path, nor the pillar of fire by night to shine on the way they were to take.You gave your good Spirit to instruct them. You did not withhold your manna from their mouths, and you gave them water for their thirst.For forty years you sustained them in the wilderness; they lacked nothing, their clothes did not wear out nor did their feet become swollen.

“ Shout it aloud, do not hold back. Raise your voice like a trumpet. Declare to my people their rebellion and to the descendants of Jacob their sins.

He led you through the vast and dreadful wilderness, that thirsty and waterless land, with its venomous snakes and scorpions. He brought you water out of hard rock.He gave you manna to eat in the wilderness, something your ancestors had never known, to humble and test you so that in the end it might go well with you.

And when the Israelites saw the mighty hand of the Lord displayed against the Egyptians, the people feared the Lord and put their trust in him and in Moses his servant.Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to the Lord:“ I will sing to the Lord, for he is highly exalted. Both horse and driver he has hurled into the sea.“ The Lord is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him.The Lord is a warrior; the Lord is his name.Pharaoh’s chariots and his army he has hurled into the sea. The best of Pharaoh’s officers are drowned in the Red Sea.The deep waters have covered them; they sank to the depths like a stone.Your right hand, Lord, was majestic in power. Your right hand, Lord, shattered the enemy.“ In the greatness of your majesty you threw down those who opposed you. You unleashed your burning anger; it consumed them like stubble.By the blast of your nostrils the waters piled up. The surging waters stood up like a wall; the deep waters congealed in the heart of the sea.The enemy boasted,‘ I will pursue, I will overtake them. I will divide the spoils; I will gorge myself on them. I will draw my sword and my hand will destroy them.’But you blew with your breath, and the sea covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters.Who among the gods is like you, Lord? Who is like you— majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders?“ You stretch out your right hand, and the earth swallows your enemies.In your unfailing love you will lead the people you have redeemed. In your strength you will guide them to your holy dwelling.The nations will hear and tremble; anguish will grip the people of Philistia.The chiefs of Edom will be terrified, the leaders of Moab will be seized with trembling, the people of Canaan will melt away;terror and dread will fall on them. By the power of your arm they will be as still as a stone— until your people pass by, Lord, until the people you bought pass by.You will bring them in and plant them on the mountain of your inheritance— the place, Lord, you made for your dwelling, the sanctuary, Lord, your hands established.“ The Lord reigns for ever and ever.”When Pharaoh’s horses, chariots and horsemen went into the sea, the Lord brought the waters of the sea back over them, but the Israelites walked through the sea on dry ground.Then Miriam the prophet, Aaron’s sister, took a timbrel in her hand, and all the women followed her, with timbrels and dancing.

Moses also said,“ You will know that it was the Lord when he gives you meat to eat in the evening and all the bread you want in the morning, because he has heard your grumbling against him. Who are we? You are not grumbling against us, but against the Lord.”

She did not give up the prostitution she began in Egypt, when during her youth men slept with her, caressed her virgin bosom and poured out their lust on her.

and go out to the Valley of Ben Hinnom, near the entrance of the Potsherd Gate. There proclaim the words I tell you,

“ Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach against it, because its wickedness has come up before me.”

Someone in the crowd said to him,“ Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”

come out, and look, you daughters of Zion. Look on King Solomon wearing a crown, the crown with which his mother crowned him on the day of his wedding, the day his heart rejoiced.

Yet she became more and more promiscuous as she recalled the days of her youth, when she was a prostitute in Egypt.

Whoever has ears, let them hear.

Out in the open wisdom calls aloud, she raises her voice in the public square;

Does not wisdom call out? Does not understanding raise her voice?At the highest point along the way, where the paths meet, she takes her stand;beside the gate leading into the city, at the entrance, she cries aloud:“ To you, O people, I call out; I raise my voice to all mankind.

In all your detestable practices and your prostitution you did not remember the days of your youth, when you were naked and bare, kicking about in your blood.

“ Put the trumpet to your lips! An eagle is over the house of the Lord because the people have broken my covenant and rebelled against my law.

They became prostitutes in Egypt, engaging in prostitution from their youth. In that land their breasts were fondled and their virgin bosoms caressed.
