I will make them eat the flesh of their sons and daughters, and they will eat one another’s flesh because their enemies will press the siege so hard against them to destroy them.’

耶和華啊，求你觀看，留意你向誰這樣行。婦人豈可吃自己所生、所撫育的嬰孩嗎？祭司和先知豈可在主的聖所中被殺嗎？

你在仇敵圍困的窘迫中，必吃你本身所生的，就是耶和華－你上帝所賜給你的兒女之肉。你中間，連那溫和文雅的人都必冷眼惡待自己的兄弟和懷中的妻子，以及他所剩下其餘的兒女，不把所吃兒女的肉分一點給他們任何一個人，因為在被仇敵圍困、陷入窘迫的各城中，他已經一無所剩了。你中間柔順嬌嫩的婦人，甚至因柔順嬌嫩腳不肯踏地的婦人，也必冷眼惡待她懷中的丈夫和自己的兒女。在被仇敵圍困、陷入窘迫的城鎮中，她因缺乏一切，就要暗中把從她兩腿中間出來的胞衣和所生下的兒女吃了。

一日，以色列王在城牆上經過，有一個婦人向他呼叫說：「我主，我王啊！求你幫助。」王說：「耶和華不幫助你，我從哪裏幫助你呢？是從禾場，或從壓酒池嗎？」王對婦人說：「你有甚麼事？」她說：「這婦人對我說：『把你的兒子交出來，我們今日可以吃他，明日可以吃我的兒子。』我們就煮了我的兒子吃了。次日我對她說：『要把你的兒子交出來，我們可以吃。』她卻把她的兒子藏起來。」
