所有过路的人，都拍掌嘲笑你；他们嗤笑耶路撒冷的居民，并摇头说：“被人称为最完美，为全地所喜悦的，就是这城吗？”你所有的仇敌都张开口攻击你，他们嗤笑你，又咬牙切齿，说：“我们吞灭它了！这真是我们期待的日子！我们等到了！亲眼看见了！”

我要使地荒凉，连住在那里的仇敌也惊奇。

我因这些事怎能不惩罚他们呢？像这样的国家，我怎能不亲自报复呢？”这是耶和华的宣告。我要为众山哭泣哀号，为旷野的草场唱哀歌；因为都已成为荒凉，无人经过，也听不到牲畜的叫声；无论空中的飞鸟，地上的走兽，都逃走跑掉了。“我要使耶路撒冷变成乱堆，成为野狗的巢穴；我要使犹大的城市荒凉，无人居住。”

包括耶路撒冷、犹大的城镇，和她的君王、领袖，使这些城镇荒废，成为令人惊骇、被人嗤笑、咒骂的对象，好像今天一样。
