彼事巴力、築崇丘以奉之、焚子女以獻之、我所嚴禁、我所痛疾。

They have built the high places of Baal to burn their children in the fire as offerings to Baal— something I did not command or mention, nor did it enter my mind.

他們在欣嫩子谷中，建造了巴力的邱壇，使自己的兒女經火獻給摩洛。這不是我吩咐的，也沒有在我心裡想過；他們竟行了這可憎惡的事，使猶大犯罪。’

你不可把你的子孫獻給摩洛，也不可褻瀆你神的名；我是耶和華。

你不可向耶和華你的神這樣行，因為耶和華恨惡的一切可厭惡的事，他們都向他們的神行了，甚至把自己的兒女用火焚燒，獻給他們的神。

他們把自己的兒女祭祀鬼魔。他們流了無辜人的血，就是他們自己兒女的血，把他們祭祀迦南的偶像；那地就被血污穢了。

“他們在欣嫩子谷中，建造了陀斐特的邱壇，用火焚燒自己的兒女；這不是我吩咐的，我也沒有在心裡想過。因此，看哪！日子快到，人必不再稱這地方為陀斐特或欣嫩子谷，卻要稱它為‘殺戮谷’；人必在陀斐特埋葬屍體，甚至無處可容。”這是耶和華的宣告。

你更把你的兒女，就是你給我所生的兒女，獻給它們作食物；你所行的淫亂還算是小事嗎？你竟宰殺了我的兒女，使他們經火，獻給它們。

他們又把兒女用火燒為祭，並且占卜，行法術，出賣自己去行耶和華看為惡的事，使他發怒。

到了早晨，巴勒帶著巴蘭上了巴力的高岡；巴蘭就從那裡觀看以色列民的邊界。

王啊！你躺在床上時，想到日後將要發生的事，那顯明隱祕事的神就把將要發生的事向你說明了。

並且在欣嫩子谷燒香，用火焚燒自己的兒女，像耶和華在以色列人面前驅走的外族人所行可厭惡的事一樣；

他們使所有頭生的都經火作供物，所以我讓他們玷污自己，好叫他們驚惶，知道我是耶和華。’
