and if that nation I warned repents of its evil, then I will relent and not inflict on it the disaster I had planned.

But suppose the nation I warned turns away from its sins. Then I will not do what I said I would. I will not bring trouble on it as I had planned.

and if that nation, concerning which I have spoken, turns from its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I intended to do to it.

but then that nation renounces its evil ways, I will not destroy it as I had planned.

However, if that nation about which I have made the announcement turns from its evil, I will relent concerning the disaster I had planned to do to it.

How shall I give thee up, Ephraim?[ how] shall I deliver thee, Israel? how shall I make thee as Admah?[ how] shall I set thee as Zeboim? mine heart is turned within me, my repentings are kindled together.

Therefore now amend your ways and your doings, and obey the voice of the LORD your God; and the LORD will repent him of the evil that he hath pronounced against you.

If so be they will hearken, and turn every man from his evil way, that I may repent me of the evil, which I purpose to do unto them because of the evil of their doings.

Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place.Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD,[ are] these.For if ye throughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye throughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbour;[ If] ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt:Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever.

I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies.

Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, and say, For mischief did he bring them out, to slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against thy people.

Return, O LORD, how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy servants.

It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I purpose to do unto them; that they may return every man from his evil way; that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.

The waters compassed me about,[ even] to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head.I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars[ was] about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay[ that] that I have vowed. Salvation[ is] of the LORD.And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry[ land].

If ye will still abide in this land, then will I build you, and not pull[ you] down, and I will plant you, and not pluck[ you] up: for I repent me of the evil that I have done unto you.

And the children of Israel said unto the LORD, We have sinned: do thou unto us whatsoever seemeth good unto thee; deliver us only, we pray thee, this day.And they put away the strange gods from among them, and served the LORD: and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.

When thy people Israel be smitten down before the enemy, because they have sinned against thee, and shall turn again to thee, and confess thy name, and pray, and make supplication unto thee in this house:Then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again unto the land which thou gavest unto their fathers.
