So give their children over to famine; hand them over to the power of the sword. Let their wives be made childless and widows; let their men be put to death, their young men slain by the sword in battle.

願他的兒女為孤兒，他的妻子為寡婦！願他的兒女漂流討飯，從他們荒涼之處出來求食！願強暴的債主牢籠他一切所有的！願外人搶他勞碌得來的！願無人向他延綿施恩！願無人可憐他的孤兒！願他的後人斷絕，名字被塗抹，不傳於下代！願他祖宗的罪孽被耶和華記念！願他母親的罪過不被塗抹！願這些罪常在耶和華面前，使他的名號斷絕於世！因為他不想施恩，卻逼迫困苦窮乏的和傷心的人，要把他們治死。他愛咒罵，咒罵就臨到他；他不喜愛福樂，福樂就與他遠離！他拿咒罵當衣服穿上；這咒罵就如水進他裏面，像油入他的骨頭。願這咒罵當他遮身的衣服，當他常束的腰帶！這就是我對頭和用惡言議論我的人從耶和華那裏所受的報應。

並要發烈怒，用刀殺你們，使你們的妻子為寡婦，兒女為孤兒。

因為死亡上來，進了我們的窗戶，入了我們的宮殿；要從外邊剪除孩童，從街上剪除少年人。

我們是無父的孤兒；我們的母親好像寡婦。

因為論到在這地方所生的兒女，又論到在這國中生養他們的父母，耶和華如此說：他們必死得甚苦，無人哀哭，必不得葬埋，必在地上像糞土，必被刀劍和饑荒滅絕；他們的屍首必給空中的飛鳥和地上的野獸作食物。」

他們的寡婦在我面前比海沙更多；我使滅命的午間來，攻擊少年人的母親，使痛苦驚嚇忽然臨到她身上。

外頭有刀劍，內室有驚恐，使人喪亡，使少男、童女、吃奶的、白髮的，盡都滅絕。

我降瘟疫在你們中間，像在埃及一樣；用刀殺戮你們的少年人，使你們的馬匹被擄掠，營中屍首的臭氣撲鼻；你們仍不歸向我。這是耶和華說的。

按公義判斷、察驗人肺腑心腸的萬軍之耶和華啊，我卻要見你在他們身上報仇，因我將我的案件向你稟明了。所以，耶和華論到尋索你命的亞拿突人如此說：「他們說：你不要奉耶和華的名說預言，免得你死在我們手中。所以萬軍之耶和華如此說：看哪，我必刑罰他們；他們的少年人必被刀劍殺死，他們的兒女必因饑荒滅亡，並且沒有餘剩的人留給他們；因為在追討之年，我必使災禍臨到亞拿突人。」

然而，耶和華與我同在，好像甚可怕的勇士。因此，逼迫我的必都絆跌，不能得勝；他們必大大蒙羞，就是受永不忘記的羞辱，因為他們行事沒有智慧。試驗義人、察看人肺腑心腸的萬軍之耶和華啊，求你容我見你在他們身上報仇，因我將我的案件向你稟明了。

祭司音麥的兒子巴施戶珥作耶和華殿的總管，聽見耶利米預言這些事，他就打先知耶利米，用耶和華殿裏便雅憫高門內的枷，將他枷在那裏。次日，巴施戶珥將耶利米開枷釋放。於是耶利米對他說：「耶和華不是叫你的名為巴施戶珥，乃是叫你瑪歌珥‧米撒畢，因耶和華如此說：『我必使你自覺驚嚇，你也必使眾朋友驚嚇；他們必倒在仇敵的刀下，你也必親眼看見；我必將猶大人全交在巴比倫王的手中，他要將他們擄到巴比倫去，也要用刀將他們殺戮。並且我要將這城中的一切貨財和勞碌得來的，並一切珍寶，以及猶大君王所有的寶物，都交在他們仇敵的手中；仇敵要當作掠物帶到巴比倫去。你這巴施戶珥和一切住在你家中的人都必被擄去；你和你的眾朋友，就是你向他們說假預言的，都必到巴比倫去，要死在那裏，葬在那裏。』」

耶和華啊，你曉得我，看見我，察驗我向你是怎樣的心。求你將他們拉出來，好像將宰的羊，叫他們等候殺戮的日子。

他們問你說：『我們往哪裏去呢？』你便告訴他們，耶和華如此說：定為死亡的，必致死亡；定為刀殺的，必交刀殺；定為饑荒的，必遭饑荒；定為擄掠的，必被擄掠。」耶和華說：「我命定四樣害他們，就是刀劍殺戮、狗類撕裂、空中的飛鳥，和地上的野獸吞吃毀滅；
