東風把他吹起，他就消逝；又把他捲起，離開原來的地方。

它中間的雇傭兵像棚裡的肥牛犢，他們一同轉身逃跑，沒有一個站立得住；因為他們遭災的日子、受懲罰的時候，已經臨到他們身上。

他們以背向我，不以臉向我；我不斷教導他們，他們卻不肯聽從，不接受管教；

你的心不可偏向淫婦的道路，也不要迷戀她的路徑。因為她使許多人倒斃，被她殺害的實在無數。

耶和華必使你在仇敵面前被擊敗；你從一條路出去攻擊他們，必在他們面前從七條路逃跑；你必成為天下萬國驚駭的對象。

你們竟離棄了我，服事別的神，因此我不再拯救你們了。你們去向你們揀選的神呼求吧！讓他們在你們遭遇患難的時候拯救你們吧。”

到了那日，我必向他們大發烈怒，離棄他們，掩面不顧他們，他們就必被吞滅，並且遭遇很多災禍和患難。到了那日，他們必說：‘我們遭遇這些災禍，不是因為我們的神不在我們中間嗎？’

耶和華必使你分散在萬民中，從地的這邊到地的那邊；在那裡你要事奉你和你的列祖不認識的別的神，就是木頭和石頭做的神。

等到他們失足的時候，我要伸冤報應；因為他們遭遇災難的日子近了，那預備要臨到他們身上的事，必快快臨到。
