For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, And shall not see when good comes, But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, In a salt land which is not inhabited.

因他必像沙漠的杜松，不见福乐来到，却要住旷野干旱之处，无人居住的碱地。

他必像沙漠里的矮树，不见福乐来到；他要住在旷野干旱之处，无人居住的盐地。

他正像原野上的杜松，福樂來到，他也看不見，他卻要住在曠野焦乾之處，無人居住之鹹地。

蓋彼必如沙漠之杜松、不沾膏澤、居於曠野乾燥之地、斥鹵之區、無人之處、

譬彼杜松、生於曠野、其地斥鹵、其壤燥烈、人蹤罕至、不沾膏澤。

必如焭獨人在曠野、不見福降、或作必如杜松生於曠野不見雨澤居於沙漠旱乾之處、無人居之滷地、

That person will be like a bush in the wastelands; they will not see prosperity when it comes. They will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives.

They will be like a bush in a dry and empty land. They will not enjoy success when it comes. They will live in dry places in the desert. It is a land of salt where no one else lives.

He is like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see any good come. He shall dwell in the parched places of the wilderness, in an uninhabited salt land.

They are like stunted shrubs in the desert, with no hope for the future. They will live in the barren wilderness, in an uninhabited salty land.

He will be like a juniper in the Arabah; he cannot see when good comes but dwells in the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land where no one lives.

For he will be like a bush in the desert, And will not see when prosperity comes, But will live in stony wastes in the wilderness, A land of salt that is not inhabited.

For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh, but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, a salt land and not inhabited.

He will be like a juniper in the Arabah; he cannot see when good comes but dwells in the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land where no one lives.

He will not see the streams, The rivers flowing with honey and cream.

Whose home I have made the wilderness, And the barren land his dwelling?

“ Flee, save your lives! And be like the juniper in the wilderness.

Let them be as the grass on the housetops, Which withers before it grows up,With which the reaper does not fill his hand, Nor he who binds sheaves, his arms.Neither let those who pass by them say,“ The blessing of the Lord be upon you; We bless you in the name of the Lord!”

Therefore, as I live,” Says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel,“ Surely Moab shall be like Sodom, And the people of Ammon like Gomorrah— Overrun with weeds and saltpits, And a perpetual desolation. The residue of My people shall plunder them, And the remnant of My people shall possess them.”

So an officer on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God and said,“ Look, if the Lord would make windows in heaven, could this thing be?” And he said,“ In fact, you shall see it with your eyes, but you shall not eat of it.”

“ Can the papyrus grow up without a marsh? Can the reeds flourish without water?While it is yet green and not cut down, It withers before any other plant.So are the paths of all who forget God; And the hope of the hypocrite shall perish,

He will not depart from darkness; The flame will dry out his branches, And by the breath of His mouth he will go away.Let him not trust in futile things, deceiving himself, For futility will be his reward.It will be accomplished before his time, And his branch will not be green.He will shake off his unripe grape like a vine, And cast off his blossom like an olive tree.For the company of hypocrites will be barren, And fire will consume the tents of bribery.

So Abimelech fought against the city all that day; he took the city and killed the people who were in it; and he demolished the city and sowed it with salt.

For you shall be as a terebinth whose leaf fades, And as a garden that has no water.

Then that officer had answered the man of God, and said,“ Now look, if the Lord would make windows in heaven, could such a thing be?” And he had said,“ In fact, you shall see it with your eyes, but you shall not eat of it.”And so it happened to him, for the people trampled him in the gate, and he died.

But its swamps and marshes will not be healed; they will be given over to salt.

The ungodly are not so, But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.

When the wicked spring up like grass, And when all the workers of iniquity flourish, It is that they may be destroyed forever.
