For he will be like a bush in the desert, And will not see when prosperity comes, But will live in stony wastes in the wilderness, A land of salt that is not inhabited.

因他必像沙漠的杜松，不见福乐来到，却要住旷野干旱之处，无人居住的碱地。

他必像沙漠里的矮树，不见福乐来到；他要住在旷野干旱之处，无人居住的盐地。

蓋彼必如沙漠之杜松、不沾膏澤、居於曠野乾燥之地、斥鹵之區、無人之處、

譬彼杜松、生於曠野、其地斥鹵、其壤燥烈、人蹤罕至、不沾膏澤。

必如焭獨人在曠野、不見福降、或作必如杜松生於曠野不見雨澤居於沙漠旱乾之處、無人居之滷地、

That person will be like a bush in the wastelands; they will not see prosperity when it comes. They will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives.

They will be like a bush in a dry and empty land. They will not enjoy success when it comes. They will live in dry places in the desert. It is a land of salt where no one else lives.

He is like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see any good come. He shall dwell in the parched places of the wilderness, in an uninhabited salt land.

They are like stunted shrubs in the desert, with no hope for the future. They will live in the barren wilderness, in an uninhabited salty land.

He will be like a juniper in the Arabah; he cannot see when good comes but dwells in the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land where no one lives.

For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, And shall not see when good comes, But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, In a salt land which is not inhabited.

For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh, but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, a salt land and not inhabited.

He does not look at the streams, The rivers flowing with honey and curds.

To whom I gave the wilderness as his home, And the salt land as his dwelling place?

Flee, save yourselves, So that you may be like a juniper in the wilderness.

May they be like grass upon the housetops, Which withers before it grows up;With which the harvester does not fill his hand, Or the binder of sheaves his arms;Nor do those who pass by say,“ The blessing of the Lord be upon you; We bless you in the name of the Lord.”

Therefore, as I live,” declares the Lord of armies, The God of Israel,“ Moab will assuredly be like Sodom, And the sons of Ammon like Gomorrah— Ground overgrown with weeds and full of salt mines, And a permanent desolation. The remnant of My people will plunder them, And the remainder of My nation will inherit them.”

The royal officer on whose hand the king was leaning responded to the man of God and said,“ Even if the Lord were to make windows in heaven, could this thing happen?” Then he said,“ Behold, you are going to see it with your own eyes, but you will not eat any of it.”

“ Can papyrus grow tall without a marsh? Can the rushes grow without water?While it is still green and not cut down, Yet it withers before any other plant.So are the paths of all who forget God; And the hope of the godless will perish,

He will not escape from darkness; The flame will dry up his shoot, And he will go away by the breath of His mouth.Let him not trust in emptiness, deceiving himself; For his reward will be emptiness.It will be accomplished before his time, And his palm branch will not be green.He will drop off his unripe grape like the vine, And will cast off his flower like the olive tree.For the company of the godless is barren, And fire consumes the tents of the corrupt.

Abimelech fought against the city that whole day, and he captured the city and killed the people who were in it; then he tore down the city and sowed it with salt.

For you will be like an oak whose leaf withers away, Or like a garden that has no water.

At that time the royal officer had responded to the man of God and said,“ Now even if the Lord were to make windows in heaven, could such a thing as this happen?” And he had said,“ Behold, you are going to see it with your own eyes, but you will not eat any of it.”And this is what happened to him, for the people trampled on him at the gate and he died.

But its swamps and marshes will not become fresh; they will be left for salt.

The wicked are not so, But they are like chaff which the wind blows away.

When the wicked sprouted up like grass And all who did injustice flourished, It was only that they might be destroyed forevermore.
