有八十人从示剑、示罗和撒玛利亚前来，胡须剃去，衣服撕裂，身体划破，手拿素祭和乳香，要奉到耶和华的殿。

当那日，万军之主耶和华使人哭泣哀号，头上光秃，身披麻布。

地上的君王、臣宰、将军、富户、壮士，和一切为奴的、自主的，都藏在山洞和岩石穴里，

那时，百姓如何，祭司也如何；仆人如何，主人也如何；婢女如何，主母也如何；买主如何，卖主也如何；放债的如何，借贷的也如何；债主如何，欠债的也如何。

所以，耶和华论到约西亚的儿子犹大王约雅敬如此说：人必不为他举哀：“哀哉，我的哥哥！哀哉，我的姊姊！”也不为他举哀：“哀哉，我的主！哀哉，我主的荣华！”他被埋葬好像埋驴子一样，被拖出去，扔在耶路撒冷城门外。

各人头上光秃，胡须剪短，手有划伤，腰束麻布。

我耳中听见耶和华对其余的人说：“要跟随他走遍全城去击杀。你们的眼不要顾惜，也不要可怜他们。要将年老的、年轻的、少女、孩童和妇女，从我的圣所开始全都杀尽，只是不可挨近凡有记号的人。”于是他们从殿前的长老杀起。

耶路撒冷啊，要剪头发，扔掉它，在光秃的高地唱哀歌，因为耶和华弃绝、离弃了惹他发怒的世代。’”

耶和华在一日之间从以色列中剪除了头与尾—棕树枝与芦苇—长老和显要就是头，以谎言教人的先知就是尾。因为引导这百姓的使他们走入迷途，被引导的都必被吞灭。所以，主不喜爱他们的青年，也不怜悯他们的孤儿和寡妇；因为他们都是亵渎的，行恶的，并且各人的口都说愚妄的话。虽然如此，耶和华的怒气并未转消；他的手依然伸出。

他们必死于致命的疾病，无人哀哭，不得埋葬，在地上如粪土，因刀剑和饥荒而灭绝；他们的尸首必给空中的飞鸟和地上的走兽作食物。

你就对他们说：‘耶和华如此说：看哪，我必使这地所有的居民，就是坐大卫宝座的君王、祭司和先知，并耶路撒冷所有的居民，都酩酊大醉。

看哪，耶和华发命令，把大房子拆成碎片，小屋子裂为小块。

我又看见死了的人，无论大小，都站在宝座前。案卷都展开了，并另有一卷展开，就是生命册。死了的人都凭着这些案卷所记载的，照他们所行的受审判。
