Then Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law who were going to marry his daughters. He said,“ Quick, get out of this place because the LORD is about to destroy the city!” But his sons-in-law thought he was ridiculing them.

Because of the impending crisis I think it best for you to remain as you are.The one bound to a wife should not seek divorce. The one released from a wife should not seek marriage.

For this is certain: The days are coming when they will say,‘ Blessed are the barren, the wombs that never bore children, and the breasts that never nursed!’

Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing their babies in those days! For there will be great distress on the earth and wrath against this people.
