但以色列人没有归向万军之耶和华，也不寻求祂。

祂手拿簸箕，要把谷场清理干净，将麦子存入仓里，用不灭的火把糠秕烧尽。”

你要簸它们，让风吹散它们，让狂风卷走它们。但你要以耶和华为喜乐，以以色列的圣者为荣耀。

毁灭巴比伦人的日子一到，我要差遣外族人从四面八方攻击、消灭他们，如同狂风卷走碎秸。

因此，愿他们丧身刀下，儿女饿死，妻子丧夫亡子，年长的被杀，年少的死于战场！

耶和华啊，你要的不是诚实吗？你责打他们，他们不感到疼痛；你严惩他们，他们仍不受教。他们屡教不改，脸比石头还硬。

你们纵然把孩子养大，我也要夺去他们的性命，一个也不留。我撇弃你们的时候，你们就有祸了！我看见以法莲栽种在草原上，美如泰尔，但以法莲却要把孩子交给屠杀者。”耶和华啊，求你给他们——你要给他们什么呢？求你使他们子宫流产，乳房干瘪。耶和华说：“因他们在吉甲的一切恶行，我已憎恶他们。因他们的恶行，我要将他们逐出我的家，不再爱他们，他们的首领都是悖逆之人。以法莲要被击打，他们的根将枯干，再也不能结果。就算他们能生儿育女，我也要杀死他们心爱的孩子。”我的上帝必弃绝他们，因为他们不听从祂。他们必在列国中流离飘泊。

恶人的光景却截然不同！他们就像被风吹散的糠秕。

耶和华吩咐我对犹大人说：“人跌倒后难道不站起来吗？人走错了路难道不回头吗？为什么耶路撒冷的居民一味地背叛我？他们诡诈成性，不肯回头。

不要像你们的祖先一样。以前的先知曾呼唤他们要听从万军之耶和华的话，改邪归正，停止作恶，他们却置若罔闻，不予理会。这是耶和华说的。

“人子啊，有一天我要夺去他们所喜悦、所夸耀、眼中所爱、心里所慕的堡垒，也要夺去他们的儿女。

那时，耶和华必对这群百姓和耶路撒冷人说：“一阵热风从荒野光秃的山头吹向我的子民，不是为扬场、吹净糠秕。那是我发出的一阵强风。现在我要宣告我对他们的审判。”

“我在你们中间降下瘟疫，如从前降在埃及一样。我杀戮你们的青年，掳掠你们的战马，使你们军营中的死尸臭味扑鼻。尽管如此，你们仍不归向我。这是耶和华说的。“我在你们中间施行毁灭，如从前毁灭所多玛和蛾摩拉一样，使你们像从火里抽出的一根柴。尽管如此，你们仍不归向我。这是耶和华说的。“以色列人啊，我要这样惩罚你们。以色列人啊，准备迎见你们的上帝吧！因为我要这样惩罚你们。”

“你们生儿育女，却留不住一个，因为他们必被掳走。

‘你告诉以色列人，我要使我的圣所，就是你们引以为傲、眼中所爱、心里所慕的受到亵渎。你们留下的儿女必死于刀下。

“妇女所生的，土地所产的，牛羊所生的都必受咒诅。

自己的儿女被外族人掳走，你们终日望眼欲穿，却无能为力。

因为死亡从窗户爬进我们的城堡，吞灭街上的孩童和广场上的青年。

“当你们被敌人围困、陷入绝境时，你们必吃自己的亲生骨肉——你们的上帝耶和华赐给你们的儿女。因为被敌人困在城中，饥饿难熬，连你们中间最温柔体贴的男人也要独自吞吃子女的肉，不肯分给自己的兄弟、爱妻和剩下的儿女。
