He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us,

The Lord helps them and delivers them; he delivers them from the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in him.

Can plunder be taken from warriors, or captives be rescued from the fierce?But this is what the Lord says:“ Yes, captives will be taken from warriors, and plunder retrieved from the fierce; I will contend with those who contend with you, and your children I will save.

no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the Lord.

But your many enemies will become like fine dust, the ruthless hordes like blown chaff. Suddenly, in an instant,

When the wicked advance against me to devour me, it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall.

Therefore strong peoples will honor you; cities of ruthless nations will revere you.You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in their distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat. For the breath of the ruthless is like a storm driving against a walland like the heat of the desert. You silence the uproar of foreigners; as heat is reduced by the shadow of a cloud, so the song of the ruthless is stilled.

The ruthless will vanish, the mockers will disappear, and all who have an eye for evil will be cut down—

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’

The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.
