Therefore this is what the Lord says:“ If you repent, I will restore you that you may serve me; if you utter worthy, not worthless, words, you will be my spokesman. Let this people turn to you, but you must not turn to them.

耶和华如此说：“你若归回，我就将你再带来，使你站在我面前；你若将宝贵的和下贱的分别出来，你就可以当作我的口。他们必归向你，你却不可归向他们。

So the Lord says to Jeremiah,“ If you turn away from your sins, I will heal you. And then you will be able to serve me. Speak words that are worthy, not worthless. Then you will be speaking for me. Let these people turn to you. But you must not turn to them.

Therefore thus says the Lord:“ If you return, I will restore you, and you shall stand before me. If you utter what is precious, and not what is worthless, you shall be as my mouth. They shall turn to you, but you shall not turn to them.

This is how the Lord responds:“ If you return to me, I will restore you so you can continue to serve me. If you speak good words rather than worthless ones, you will be my spokesman. You must influence them; do not let them influence you!

Therefore, this is what the LORD says: If you return, I will take you back; you will stand in my presence. And if you speak noble words, rather than worthless ones, you will be my spokesman. It is they who must return to you; you must not return to them.

Therefore, this is what the Lord says:“ If you return, then I will restore you— You will stand before Me; And if you extract the precious from the worthless, You will become My spokesman. They, for their part, may turn to you, But as for you, you are not to turn to them.

Therefore thus says the Lord:“ If you return, Then I will bring you back; You shall stand before Me; If you take out the precious from the vile, You shall be as My mouth. Let them return to you, But you must not return to them.

Therefore thus saith Jehovah, If thou return, then will I bring thee again, that thou mayest stand before me; and if thou take forth the precious from the vile, thou shalt be as my mouth: they shall return unto thee, but thou shalt not return unto them.

Therefore, this is what the Lord says: If you return, I will restore you; you will stand in My presence. And if you speak noble words, rather than worthless ones, you will be My spokesman. It is they who must return to you; you must not return to them.

Because of this, the LORD said,“ You must repent of such words and thoughts! If you do, I will restore you to the privilege of serving me. If you say what is worthwhile instead of what is worthless, I will again allow you to be my spokesman. They must become as you have been. You must not become like them.

Therefore Yahweh says,“ If you return, then I will bring you again, that you may stand before me; and if you take out the precious from the vile, you will be as my mouth. They will return to you, but you will not return to them.

“ This is what the Lord Almighty says:‘ If you will walk in obedience to me and keep my requirements, then you will govern my house and have charge of my courts, and I will give you a place among these standing here.

They are to teach my people the difference between the holy and the common and show them how to distinguish between the unclean and the clean.

Her priests do violence to my law and profane my holy things; they do not distinguish between the holy and the common; they teach that there is no difference between the unclean and the clean; and they shut their eyes to the keeping of my Sabbaths, so that I am profaned among them.

so that you can distinguish between the holy and the common, between the unclean and the clean,

But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.

To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy—

For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.

For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God.

“ Whoever listens to you listens to me; whoever rejects you rejects me; but whoever rejects me rejects him who sent me.”

Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.

You shall speak to him and put words in his mouth; I will help both of you speak and will teach you what to do.He will speak to the people for you, and it will be as if he were your mouth and as if you were God to him.

You must speak my words to them, whether they listen or fail to listen, for they are rebellious.

Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”

Then the Lord said to me:“ Even if Moses and Samuel were to stand before me, my heart would not go out to this people. Send them away from my presence! Let them go!

“ They will not hand you over,” Jeremiah replied.“ Obey the Lord by doing what I tell you. Then it will go well with you, and your life will be spared.But if you refuse to surrender, this is what the Lord has revealed to me:

for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.”

But if I say,“ I will not mention his word or speak anymore in his name,” his word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones. I am weary of holding it in; indeed, I cannot.

The angel said to him,“ I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to tell you this good news.

Do you see someone skilled in their work? They will serve before kings; they will not serve before officials of low rank.

Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.”

And he said to me,“ Son of man, listen carefully and take to heart all the words I speak to you.Go now to your people in exile and speak to them. Say to them,‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says,’ whether they listen or fail to listen.”

Now Elijah the Tishbite, from Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab,“ As the Lord, the God of Israel, lives, whom I serve, there will be neither dew nor rain in the next few years except at my word.”

he said to him,“ I am the Lord. Tell Pharaoh king of Egypt everything I tell you.”But Moses said to the Lord,“ Since I speak with faltering lips, why would Pharaoh listen to me?”

We did not give in to them for a moment, so that the truth of the gospel might be preserved for you.

Alas, my mother, that you gave me birth, a man with whom the whole land strives and contends! I have neither lent nor borrowed, yet everyone curses me.The Lord said,“ Surely I will deliver you for a good purpose; surely I will make your enemies plead with you in times of disaster and times of distress.“ Can a man break iron— iron from the north— or bronze?“ Your wealth and your treasures I will give as plunder, without charge, because of all your sins throughout your country.I will enslave you to your enemies in a land you do not know, for my anger will kindle a fire that will burn against you.”Lord, you understand; remember me and care for me. Avenge me on my persecutors. You are long- suffering— do not take me away; think of how I suffer reproach for your sake.When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart’s delight, for I bear your name, Lord God Almighty.I never sat in the company of revelers, never made merry with them; I sat alone because your hand was on me and you had filled me with indignation.Why is my pain unending and my wound grievous and incurable? You are to me like a deceptive brook, like a spring that fails.

So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer.

“ Go to the great city of Nineveh and proclaim to it the message I give you.”

No longer will the fool be called noble nor the scoundrel be highly respected.For fools speak folly, their hearts are bent on evil: They practice ungodliness and spread error concerning the Lord; the hungry they leave empty and from the thirsty they withhold water.
