Though our iniquities testify against us, LORD, act for your name’s sake. Indeed, our rebellions are many; we have sinned against you.

『我們的罪孽雖作證告我們，永恆主啊，為你名的緣故行事吧！雖則我們多次轉離正道，犯罪得罪了你。

耶和華歟、我之愆尤雖證我惡、願爾緣爾名而施行、我屢悖逆、干罪於爾、

耶和華與、我罪戾孔多、爾鑒察之、雖屢背爾、願爾赦宥、彰爾仁慈。

主歟、我雖屢違背、獲罪於主、我之愆尤、彷彿控我、仍求主為主之名赦宥我、

Although our sins testify against us, do something, Lord, for the sake of your name. For we have often rebelled; we have sinned against you.

Lord, our sins are a witness against us. But do something for the honor of your name. We have often turned away from you. We’ve sinned against you.

“ Though our iniquities testify against us, act, O Lord, for your name’s sake; for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against you.

The people say,“ Our wickedness has caught up with us, Lord, but help us for the sake of your own reputation. We have turned away from you and sinned against you again and again.

Though our wrongdoings testify against us, Lord, act for the sake of Your name! Our apostasies have indeed been many, We have sinned against You.

O Lord, though our iniquities testify against us, Do it for Your name’s sake; For our backslidings are many, We have sinned against You.

Though our iniquities testify against us, work thou for thy name’s sake, O Jehovah; for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against thee.

Though our guilt testifies against us, Yahweh, act for Your name’s sake. Indeed, our rebellions are many; we have sinned against You.

O LORD, though our iniquities testify against us, do thou[ it] for thy name’s sake: for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against thee.

Then I said,“ O LORD, intervene for the honor of your name even though our sins speak out against us. Indeed, we have turned away from you many times. We have sinned against you.

Though our iniquities testify against us, work for your name’s sake, Yahweh; for our rebellions are many. We have sinned against you.

Israel’s arrogance testifies against them. Both Israel and Ephraim stumble because of their iniquity; even Judah will stumble with them.

LORD, for the sake of your name, forgive my iniquity, for it is immense.

Therefore, a lion from the forest will strike them down. A wolf from arid plains will ravage them. A leopard stalks their cities. Anyone who leaves them will be torn to pieces because their rebellious acts are many, their unfaithful deeds numerous.

For our transgressions have multiplied before you, and our sins testify against us. For our transgressions are with us, and we know our iniquities:

We acknowledge our wickedness, LORD, the iniquity of our ancestors; indeed, we have sinned against you.For your name’s sake, don’t despise us. Don’t disdain your glorious throne. Remember your covenant with us; do not break it.

Your own evil will discipline you; your own apostasies will reprimand you. Recognize how evil and bitter it is for you to abandon the LORD your God and to have no fear of me. This is the declaration of the Lord GOD of Armies.

to the praise of his glorious grace that he lavished on us in the Beloved One.

Not to us, LORD, not to us, but to your name give glory because of your faithful love, because of your truth.

LORD God of Israel, you are righteous, for we survive as a remnant today. Here we are before you with our guilt, though no one can stand in your presence because of this.

Israel’s arrogance testifies against them, yet they do not return to the LORD their God, and for all this, they do not seek him.

Listen closely, my God, and hear. Open your eyes and see our desolations and the city that bears your name. For we are not presenting our petitions before you based on our righteous acts, but based on your abundant compassion.Lord, hear! Lord, forgive! Lord, listen and act! My God, for your own sake, do not delay, because your city and your people bear your name.

if I had not feared provocation from the enemy, or feared that these foes might misunderstand and say,‘ Our own hand has prevailed; it wasn’t the LORD who did all this.’”

we have sinned, done wrong, acted wickedly, rebelled, and turned away from your commands and ordinances.We have not listened to your servants the prophets, who spoke in your name to our kings, leaders, ancestors, and all the people of the land.Lord, righteousness belongs to you, but this day public shame belongs to us: the men of Judah, the residents of Jerusalem, and all Israel— those who are near and those who are far, in all the countries where you have banished them because of the disloyalty they have shown toward you.LORD, public shame belongs to us, our kings, our leaders, and our ancestors, because we have sinned against you.Compassion and forgiveness belong to the Lord our God, though we have rebelled against himand have not obeyed the LORD our God by following his instructions that he set before us through his servants the prophets.All Israel has broken your law and turned away, refusing to obey you. The promised curse written in the law of Moses, the servant of God, has been poured out on us because we have sinned against him.He has carried out his words that he spoke against us and against our rulers by bringing on us a disaster that is so great that nothing like what has been done to Jerusalem has ever been done under all of heaven.Just as it is written in the law of Moses, all this disaster has come on us, yet we have not sought the favor of the LORD our God by turning from our iniquities and paying attention to your truth.So the LORD kept the disaster in mind and brought it on us, for the LORD our God is righteous in all he has done. But we have not obeyed him.Now, Lord our God— who brought your people out of the land of Egypt with a strong hand and made your name renowned as it is this day— we have sinned, we have acted wickedly.Lord, in keeping with all your righteous acts, may your anger and wrath turn away from your city Jerusalem, your holy mountain; for because of our sins and the iniquities of our ancestors, Jerusalem and your people have become an object of ridicule to all those around us.

When the Canaanites and all who live in the land hear about this, they will surround us and wipe out our name from the earth. Then what will you do about your great name?”

But I withheld my hand and acted for the sake of my name, so that it would not be profaned in the eyes of the nations in whose sight I brought them out.

In the days of King Josiah the LORD asked me,“ Have you seen what unfaithful Israel has done? She has ascended every high hill and gone under every green tree to prostitute herself there.

And I said: My God, I am ashamed and embarrassed to lift my face toward you, my God, because our iniquities are higher than our heads and our guilt is as high as the heavens.Our guilt has been terrible from the days of our ancestors until the present. Because of our iniquities we have been handed over, along with our kings and priests, to the surrounding kings, and to the sword, captivity, plundering, and open shame, as it is today.

so that we who had already put our hope in Christ might bring praise to his glory.

You are righteous concerning all that has happened to us, because you have acted faithfully, while we have acted wickedly.Our kings, leaders, priests, and ancestors did not obey your law or listen to your commands and warnings you gave them.

But I acted for the sake of my name, so that it would not be profaned in the eyes of the nations in whose sight I had brought them out.

Why are we just sitting here? Gather together; let’s enter the fortified cities and perish there, for the LORD our God has destroyed us. He has given us poisoned water to drink, because we have sinned against the LORD.
