“ I, the LORD, say:‘ This shows how I will ruin the highly exalted position in which Judah and Jerusalem take pride.

“耶和华这样说：‘我必照样败坏犹大的尊荣和耶路撒冷极大的尊荣。

「耶和華如此說：我必照樣敗壞猶大的驕傲和耶路撒冷的大驕傲。

「耶和華如此說：我要照樣敗壞猶大的驕傲和耶路撒冷的狂傲。

「耶和華如此說：我要照樣敗壞猶大的驕傲和耶路撒冷的狂傲。

「這是耶和華說的，『我也要這樣消滅猶大的驕傲和耶路撒冷的狂妄。

“耶和華這樣說：‘我必照樣敗壞猶大的尊榮和耶路撒冷極大的尊榮。

『永恆主這麼說：我必照樣搞壞猶大的驕傲、和耶路撒冷的大驕傲。

耶和華云、我必若是敗猶大之狂傲、及耶路撒冷特甚之狂傲、

猶大及耶路撒冷汰侈已甚、我耶和華將敗之、與此無異。

我即主如是云、猶大及耶路撒冷驕傲已甚、我將敗之、與帶之壞無異、

“ This is what the Lord says:‘ In the same way I will ruin the pride of Judah and the great pride of Jerusalem.

“ In the same way, I will destroy Judah’s pride. And I will destroy the great pride of Jerusalem.

“ Thus says the Lord: Even so will I spoil the pride of Judah and the great pride of Jerusalem.

“ This is what the Lord says: This shows how I will rot away the pride of Judah and Jerusalem.

“ This is what the LORD says: Just like this I will ruin the great pride of both Judah and Jerusalem.

“ This is what the Lord says:‘ To the same extent I will destroy the pride of Judah and the great pride of Jerusalem.

“ Thus says the Lord:‘ In this manner I will ruin the pride of Judah and the great pride of Jerusalem.

Thus saith Jehovah, After this manner will I mar the pride of Judah, and the great pride of Jerusalem.

“ This is what the Lord says: Just like this I will ruin the great pride of both Judah and Jerusalem.

Thus saith the LORD, After this manner will I mar the pride of Judah, and the great pride of Jerusalem.

“ Yahweh says,‘ In this way I, will ruin the pride of Judah, and the great pride of Jerusalem.

I will break your strong pride and make your sky like iron and your land like bronze.

Then I said to the people of Judah,“ Listen and pay attention! Do not be arrogant! For the LORD has spoken.Show the LORD your God the respect that is due him. Do it before he brings the darkness of disaster. Do it before you stumble into distress like a traveler on the mountains at twilight. Do it before he turns the light of deliverance you hope for into the darkness and gloom of exile.But if you will not pay attention to this warning, I will weep alone because of your arrogant pride. I will weep bitterly and my eyes will overflow with tears because you, the LORD’s flock, will be carried into exile.”

Go up into the rocky cliffs, hide in the ground. Get away from the dreadful judgment of the LORD, from his royal splendor!Proud men will be brought low, arrogant men will be humiliated; the LORD alone will be exalted in that day.Indeed, the LORD who commands armies has planned a day of judgment, for all the high and mighty, for all who are proud– they will be humiliated;for all the cedars of Lebanon, that are so high and mighty, for all the oaks of Bashan;for all the tall mountains, for all the high hills,for every high tower, for every fortified wall,for all the large ships, for all the impressive ships.Proud men will be humiliated, arrogant men will be brought low; the LORD alone will be exalted in that day.

The LORD who commands armies planned it– to dishonor the pride that comes from all her beauty, to humiliate all the dignitaries of the earth.

In that day you will not be ashamed of all your rebelliousness against me, for then I will remove from your midst those who proudly boast, and you will never again be arrogant on my holy hill.

I have heard how proud the people of Moab are, I know how haughty they are. I have heard how arrogant, proud, and haughty they are, what a high opinion they have of themselves.

They were haughty and practiced abominable deeds before me. Therefore when I saw it I removed them.

Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.

But he gives greater grace. Therefore it says,“ God opposes the proud, but he gives grace to the humble.”

We have heard about Moab’s pride, their great arrogance, their boasting, pride, and excess. But their boastful claims are empty!

I tell you that this man went down to his home justified rather than the Pharisee. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

For the LORD will restore the majesty of Jacob, as well as the majesty of Israel, though their enemies have plundered them and have destroyed their fields.

In the same way, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. And all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.

We are pursued– they are breathing down our necks; we are weary and have no rest.We have submitted to Egypt and Assyria in order to buy food to eat.Our forefathers sinned and are dead, but we suffer their punishment.Slaves rule over us; there is no one to rescue us from their power.

Now and then there would be something wrong with the pot he was molding from the clay with his hands. So he would rework the clay into another kind of pot as he saw fit.Then the LORD said to me,“ I, the LORD, say:‘ O nation of Israel, can I not deal with you as this potter deals with the clay? In my hands, you, O nation of Israel, are just like the clay in this potter’s hand.’

In your days of majesty, was not Sodom your sister a byword in your mouth,

Adorn yourself, then, with majesty and excellency, and clothe yourself with glory and honor!Scatter abroad the abundance of your anger. Look at every proud man and bring him low;Look at every proud man and abase him; crush the wicked on the spot!
