“ This is what the LORD says: Just like this I will ruin the great pride of both Judah and Jerusalem.

「耶和華如此說：我必照樣敗壞猶大的驕傲和耶路撒冷的大驕傲。

「耶和華如此說：我要照樣敗壞猶大的驕傲和耶路撒冷的狂傲。

「耶和華如此說：我要照樣敗壞猶大的驕傲和耶路撒冷的狂傲。

「這是耶和華說的，『我也要這樣消滅猶大的驕傲和耶路撒冷的狂妄。

“耶和華這樣說：‘我必照樣敗壞猶大的尊榮和耶路撒冷極大的尊榮。

『永恆主這麼說：我必照樣搞壞猶大的驕傲、和耶路撒冷的大驕傲。

耶和華云、我必若是敗猶大之狂傲、及耶路撒冷特甚之狂傲、

猶大及耶路撒冷汰侈已甚、我耶和華將敗之、與此無異。

我即主如是云、猶大及耶路撒冷驕傲已甚、我將敗之、與帶之壞無異、

“ This is what the Lord says:‘ In the same way I will ruin the pride of Judah and the great pride of Jerusalem.

“ In the same way, I will destroy Judah’s pride. And I will destroy the great pride of Jerusalem.

“ Thus says the Lord: Even so will I spoil the pride of Judah and the great pride of Jerusalem.

“ This is what the Lord says: This shows how I will rot away the pride of Judah and Jerusalem.

“ This is what the Lord says:‘ To the same extent I will destroy the pride of Judah and the great pride of Jerusalem.

“ Thus says the Lord:‘ In this manner I will ruin the pride of Judah and the great pride of Jerusalem.

Thus saith Jehovah, After this manner will I mar the pride of Judah, and the great pride of Jerusalem.

“ This is what the Lord says: Just like this I will ruin the great pride of both Judah and Jerusalem.

Thus saith the LORD, After this manner will I mar the pride of Judah, and the great pride of Jerusalem.

“ I, the LORD, say:‘ This shows how I will ruin the highly exalted position in which Judah and Jerusalem take pride.

“ Yahweh says,‘ In this way I, will ruin the pride of Judah, and the great pride of Jerusalem.

I will break down your strong pride. I will make your sky like iron and your land like bronze,

Listen and pay attention. Do not be proud, for the LORD has spoken.Give glory to the LORD your God before he brings darkness, before your feet stumble on the mountains at dusk. You wait for light, but he brings darkest gloom and makes total darkness.But if you will not listen, my innermost being will weep in secret because of your pride. My eyes will overflow with tears, for the LORD’s flock has been taken captive.

Go into the rocks and hide in the dust from the terror of the LORD and from his majestic splendor.The pride of mankind will be humbled, and human loftiness will be brought low; the LORD alone will be exalted on that day.For a day belonging to the LORD of Armies is coming against all that is proud and lofty, against all that is lifted up— it will be humbled—against all the cedars of Lebanon, lofty and lifted up, against all the oaks of Bashan,against all the high mountains, against all the lofty hills,against every high tower, against every fortified wall,against every ship of Tarshish, and against every splendid sea vessel.The pride of mankind will be brought low, and human loftiness will be humbled; the LORD alone will be exalted on that day.

The LORD of Armies planned it, to desecrate all its glorious beauty, to disgrace all the honored ones of the earth.

On that day you will not be put to shame because of everything you have done in rebelling against me. For then I will remove from among you your jubilant, arrogant people, and you will never again be haughty on my holy mountain.

We have heard of Moab’s pride, great pride, indeed— his insolence, arrogance, pride, and haughty heart.

They were haughty and did detestable acts before me, so I removed them when I saw this.

Pride comes before destruction, and an arrogant spirit before a fall.

But he gives greater grace. Therefore he says: God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.

We have heard of Moab’s pride— how very proud he is— his haughtiness, his pride, his arrogance, and his empty boasting.

I tell you, this one went down to his house justified rather than the other, because everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”

For the LORD will restore the majesty of Jacob, yes, the majesty of Israel, though ravagers have ravaged them and ruined their vine branches.

In the same way, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. All of you clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.

We are closely pursued; we are tired, and no one offers us rest.We made a treaty with Egypt and with Assyria, to get enough food.Our ancestors sinned; they no longer exist, but we bear their punishment.Slaves rule over us; no one rescues us from them.

But the jar that he was making from the clay became flawed in the potter’s hand, so he made it into another jar, as it seemed right for him to do.The word of the LORD came to me:“ House of Israel, can I not treat you as this potter treats his clay?”— this is the LORD’s declaration.“ Just like clay in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand, house of Israel.

Didn’t you treat your sister Sodom as an object of scorn when you were proud,

Adorn yourself with majesty and splendor, and clothe yourself with honor and glory.Pour out your raging anger; look on every proud person and humiliate him.Look on every proud person and humble him; trample the wicked where they stand.
