可以從其中取木料來做工嗎？人可以拿來做釘子，掛東西在上面嗎？看哪，它已經拋在火中當柴燒，火既燒了兩頭，中間也燒焦了，它還有甚麼用處呢？看哪，它完整的時候尚且不能拿來做工，何況被火燒焦了，還能拿來做工嗎？

約書亞穿着污穢的衣服，站在那使者面前。使者吩咐那些侍立在他面前的說：「脫去他污穢的衣服。」又對約書亞說：「你看，我使你的罪孽離開你，要給你穿上華美的衣服。」

這惡民不肯聽我的話，按自己頑梗的心而行，隨從別神，事奉敬拜它們；這惡民必像這腰帶，毫無用處。

從前他與你沒有益處，但如今與你我都有益處。
