人人都偏离了正道，一同变成污秽；没有行善的，连一个也没有。

“盐本来是好的，但如果失了味，怎能使它再咸呢？或用在田里，或放在粪里，都不合适；只好扔在外面。有耳可听的，就应当听。”

巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒把犹大王约雅敬的儿子耶哥尼雅，和犹大的众领袖、工匠与铁匠从耶路撒冷掳到巴比伦去。这事以后，耶和华使我看见在耶和华的殿前面摆着两筐无花果。一筐是极好的无花果，像初熟的无花果；另一筐是极坏的无花果，坏到不能吃。于是耶和华问我：“耶利米啊，你看见什么？”我回答：“我看见无花果。那些好的无花果极好，坏的却极坏，坏到不能吃。”耶和华的话临到我，说：“耶和华以色列的神这样说：‘被掳去的犹大人，就是我打发离开这地方到迦勒底人之地去的，我必看他们如同这些好的无花果一样，眷顾他们。我必关注他们，眷顾他们，领他们归回这地。我必建立他们，必不拆毁；我必栽植他们，必不拔除。我必赐给他们一颗认识我的心，知道我就是耶和华；他们要作我的子民，我要亲自作他们的神，因为他们必一心归向我。’”“但耶和华这样说：‘我怎样处置那些坏到不能吃的坏无花果，我也必照样对待犹大王西底家、他的众领袖和耶路撒冷的余民，不论是余剩在这地的，或是住在埃及地的。

人可以从葡萄树上取木料制造物件吗？可以从葡萄树上取木料做钉子挂器皿吗？看哪！已经抛在火里当作燃料，火既烧毁了两端，连中间也烧焦了，它还可以用来制造物件吗？看哪！它完整的时候，尚且不能用来制造物件，何况它被火烧毁和烧焦了，它还能用来做什么呢？”

那时，约书亚穿着污秽的衣服，站在使者的面前。使者吩咐那些侍立在他面前的说：“你们要脱去他污秽的衣服。”又对约书亚说：“看哪！我已经除去了你的罪孽，要给你穿上华美的礼服。”

这邪恶的人民，不肯听从我的话，他们随着自己顽梗的心行事，随从别的神，事奉敬拜他们；所以他们必像这根腰带，毫无用处。

他从前对你没有什么好处，但现在对你我都有好处。
