葡萄木有什麼用呢？能用它製造掛鉤掛東西嗎？它只能用來當柴燒。如果火已經燒了它的兩頭，中間也燒黑了，它還有什麼用呢？它完好無損的時候，尚且不能用來製造工具，被火燒後豈不更沒用了嗎？

那時，約書亞穿著污穢的衣服站在天使面前。天使對侍立在周圍的說：「脫掉他污穢的衣服。」他又對約書亞說：「看啊，我已除掉你的罪，我要給你穿上華美的衣服。」

這邪惡的百姓拒絕聽我的話，一意孤行，跟隨、供奉、祭拜別的神明，他們將像這腰帶一樣毫無用處。

他過去對你沒有什麼益處，但現在對你對我都有益處。
