我責打你們的兒女是徒然的，他們不受懲治。你們自己的刀吞滅你們的先知，好像殘害的獅子。

你雖用杵將愚妄人與打碎的麥子一同搗在臼中，他的愚妄還是離不了他。

耶和華啊，你的眼目不是看顧誠實嗎？你擊打他們，他們卻不傷慟；你毀滅他們，他們仍不受懲治。他們使臉剛硬過於磐石，不肯回頭。

風箱吹火，鉛被燒毀；他們煉而又煉，終是徒然；因為惡劣的還未除掉。人必稱他們為被棄的銀渣，因為耶和華已經棄掉他們。
