“原来栽培你的万军之耶和华已经说要降祸给你，是因以色列家和犹大家行恶。他们向巴力烧香，惹我发怒，是自作自受。”

你要这样告诉他，耶和华如此说：看哪，我所建立的，我必拆毁；我所栽植的，我必拔出；在全地我都如此行。

‘这百姓用嘴唇尊敬我，他们的心却远离我。

他们如同百姓前来，来到你这里，坐在你面前仿佛是我的子民。他们听了你的话，却不实行；因为他们口里说爱，心却追随财利。

它又从这地取了一些种子，种在肥沃的田里，栽于丰沛的水源旁，如种植柳树。它渐渐生长，成为低矮蔓生的葡萄树；树枝伸向那鹰，根部在它下面。这样，它就长成了一棵葡萄树，生出枝子，长出枝干。“有一只大鹰，翅膀大，羽毛多。看哪，葡萄树从栽种它的苗圃向这鹰伸出根来，长出枝子，期盼从它得到浇灌。这棵树栽于肥田丰沛的水源旁，原是为了生枝、结果，成为佳美的葡萄树。你要说，主耶和华如此说：这棵葡萄树岂能发旺呢？鹰岂不拔出它的根来，摘光它的果子，使它枯干，连长出的嫩叶都枯萎了吗？要把它连根拔除，并不需要费大力或动用许多人。看哪，葡萄树虽然栽种了，岂能发旺呢？一经东风击打，岂不全然枯干了吗？它必在生长的苗圃中枯干了。”

耶稣对他们说：“以赛亚指着你们假冒为善的人所预言的说得好。如经上所记：‘这百姓用嘴唇尊敬我，他们的心却远离我。

你的母亲如葡萄树，在葡萄园中，栽于水边，因为水多，就多结果子，多生枝子；它长出坚固的枝干，可作统治者的权杖。这枝干高举在茂密的树枝中，可见树身高大，枝子繁多。但在烈怒中它被拔出，摔在地上；东风吹干其果子，那坚固的枝干因折断而枯干，被火烧毁；如今这葡萄树移植于旷野，在干旱无水之地，

虽有这一切的事，她奸诈的妹妹犹大还不一心归向我，不过是假意归我。这是耶和华说的。”
