殘賊者陟曠野之荒邱、耶和華之刃吞噬斯土、自此至彼、凡有血氣者、罔獲綏安、

曠野童山、寇賊已至、遍於四境、民罹鋒刃、被吞噬、不享綏安、我使之然。

行毀者已至曠野諸童山、自國此極至國彼極、主之刃遍行殺戮、凡有血氣者、不得綏安、

Over all the barren heights in the desert destroyers will swarm, for the sword of the Lord will devour from one end of the land to the other; no one will be safe.

Many will come to destroy it. They will gather on the bare hilltops in the desert. I will use them as my sword to destroy my people. They will kill them from one end of the land to the other. No one will be safe.

Upon all the bare heights in the desert destroyers have come, for the sword of the Lord devours from one end of the land to the other; no flesh has peace.

On all the bare hilltops, destroying armies can be seen. The sword of the Lord devours people from one end of the nation to the other. No one will escape!

“‘ You sword of Yahweh, how long will it be before you are quiet? Put yourself back into your scabbard; rest, and be still.’

For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion,‘ How we are ruined! We are greatly confounded, because we have forsaken the land, because they have cast down our dwellings.’”Yet hear Yahweh’s word, you women. Let your ear receive the word of his mouth. Teach your daughters wailing, and everyone teach her neighbor a lamentation.For death has come up into our windows. It has entered into our palaces to cut off the children from outside, and the young men from the streets.

At that time it will be said to this people and to Jerusalem,“ A hot wind from the bare heights in the wilderness toward the daughter of my people, not to winnow, nor to cleanse;a full wind from these will come for me. Now I will also utter judgments against them.”Behold, he will come up as clouds, and his chariots will be as the whirlwind. His horses are swifter than eagles. Woe to us! For we are ruined.Jerusalem, wash your heart from wickedness, that you may be saved. How long will your evil thoughts lodge within you?For a voice declares from Dan, and publishes evil from the hills of Ephraim:

The praise of Moab is no more. In Heshbon they have devised evil against her:‘ Come! Let’s cut her off from being a nation.’ You also, Madmen, will be brought to silence. The sword will pursue you.

Another came out: a red horse. To him who sat on it was given power to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another. There was given to him a great sword.

for then there will be great suffering, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever will be.Unless those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved. But for the sake of the chosen ones, those days will be shortened.

For, behold, Yahweh will come with fire, and his chariots will be like the whirlwind; to render his anger with fierceness, and his rebuke with flames of fire.For Yahweh will execute judgment by fire and by his sword on all flesh; and those slain by Yahweh will be many.

You Cushites also, you will be killed by my sword.

“ Lift up your eyes to the bare heights, and see! Where have you not been lain with? You have sat waiting for them by the road, as an Arabian in the wilderness. You have polluted the land with your prostitution and with your wickedness.

Behold, I proclaim to you a liberty,” says Yahweh,“ to the sword, to the pestilence, and to the famine. I will make you be tossed back and forth among all the kingdoms of the earth.

It will happen, when they ask you,‘ Where shall we go out?’ then you shall tell them,‘ Yahweh says:“ Such as are for death, to death; such as are for the sword, to the sword; such as are for the famine, to the famine; and such as are for captivity, to captivity.”’
