Over all the barren heights in the desert destroyers will swarm, for the sword of the Lord will devour from one end of the land to the other; no one will be safe.

Many will come to destroy it. They will gather on the bare hilltops in the desert. I will use them as my sword to destroy my people. They will kill them from one end of the land to the other. No one will be safe.

哦，永恆主的刀劍哪，你到幾時才能安靜下來呢？你收入鞘，靜息不動吧！

即使他們被仇敵擄去、流亡外國，就是從那裏、我也必吩咐刀劍去殺戮他們；我必拿眼瞪着他們，是要降禍，不是降福。』

永恆主有刀，漬滿了血，由脂肪而肥潤的，由小綿羊和公山羊的血，公綿羊腰子的脂肪而滋肥的因為永恆主在波斯拉有宰祭的事，在以東地有大屠殺。

或者我使刀劍臨到那地，說：願刀劍經過那地，好使我將人和牲口都從那裏剪除掉；

我必使你們四散於外國中，我必拔刀來追趕你們，你們的地就荒涼，你們的城市就荒廢。

圍困這城的日子滿了，你要將三分之一在城中用燄火焚燒，將三分之一在城的四圍用刀剁碎，將三分之一給風吹散；我還要拔刀追趕他們。

他有名字在他衣裳和大腿上寫着說：「萬王之王，萬主之主」。我看見有一位天使站在日頭中、向天頂點上一切飛着的鳥大聲喊着說：『你們來，聚集來赴上帝的大筵席，好喫君王的肉、千夫長的肉、壯士的肉、馬和騎馬者的肉、自主的為奴的、小的大的、眾人的肉。』我看見那獸和地上的君王跟他們的眾軍、都聚集了來、要對那騎馬的和他的軍隊作戰。那獸被逮，那假神言人、就是那在獸面前行過神迹、用神迹迷惑了受獸印記和拜獸像的人的、也和獸一同被逮；這兩個活活地丟在那有硫磺燒着的火湖裏。其餘的被騎馬者口中吐出的劍殺了；眾鳥都喫飽了他們的肉。

我的上帝說：『惡人並沒有平安福利。』

因為有哀聲從錫安聽到，說：「我們怎樣敗亡啊！我們慚愧極了！因為我們撇下了此地，因為人把我們的住處拋掉了。」』婦人們哪，你們要聽永恆主的話，你們的耳要領受他口中的話語；你們要教導兒女舉哀，各人要教導鄰舍唱哀歌。因為死亡上來，進了我們的窗戶，入了我們的宮堡，要從街上剪除孩童，從廣場上剪掉青年。

那時必有話對這人民和耶路撒冷說：在曠野無草木的高處上有一陣熱風向我子民颳來，不是為了簸揚，也不是為了揚淨，必有一陣太大的風、不是這些穀子所受得了的、為我颳來。現在是我要說出判語來定他們的罪。』看吧，仇敵必如雲上來，他的戰車如旋風，他的馬比鷹還快：我們有禍了！我們敗亡啦！耶路撒冷啊，將你心中的壞處洗淨，使你可以得救哦；你奸惡的意念存於你心裏、要到幾時呢？聽啊，有聲音從但宣告着，從以法蓮山地公布災禍的消息。

摩押不再被稱讚了；有人在希實本設計謀害她，說：「來，我們將她剪除，使她不再成國！」瑪得緬哪，你也要默默無聲！刀劍必追趕你。

就另有一匹馬出來，是紅色的。騎馬的得了權柄，可以從地上將和平奪取了去，使人彼此屠殺。又有一把大刀給了他。

因為那時必有大苦難；這樣的苦難、從世界的起頭、直到如今、還沒有過，將來也一定不會有的。若不是那些日子被截短了，凡是血肉之人就沒有一個能得救；但是為了蒙揀選的人的緣故，那些日子是必會被截短的。

『因為你看吧，永恆主必乘着火來臨，他的車輦如同旋風；他必用他怒氣之猛烈施報應，用火燄行他的叱責。因為永恆主必用火施審判，用刀向凡有血肉的行判罰；而永恆主刺死的人一定很多。

你們呢、古實人哪，你們也必給我的刀刺殺。

你向無草木的高處舉目看吧！在哪一個地方你沒有受過蹧蹋？你坐在路旁等候情人，好像亞拉伯人在曠野埋伏着一樣：你竟用你的淫行和邪惡把這地都沾污了。

故此永恆主這麼說：你們各人沒有聽從我，而給族弟兄、給鄰舍宣告自由，看吧，永恆主發神諭說，我給你們宣告另一種自由，把你們自由的交於刀劍饑荒和瘟疫之下，使你們做地上萬國所不寒而慄的對象。

他們若問你說：「我們要出去到哪裏呢？」你便對他們說：「永恆主這麼說：『那該遭疫癘的，就遭疫癘；該被刀殺的、就被刀殺；該受饑荒的，就受饑荒；該被擄的，就被擄。』」』
