It is better to go to a house of mourning than to go to a house of feasting, since that is the end of all mankind, and the living should take it to heart.

All her pursuers have overtaken her in narrow places.The roads to Zion mourn, for no one comes to the appointed festivals. All her gates are deserted; her priests groan, her young women grieve, and she herself is bitter.Her adversaries have become her masters; her enemies are at ease, for the Lord has made her suffer because of her many transgressions. Her children have gone away as captives before the adversary.

Be warned, Jerusalem, or I will turn away from you; I will make you a desolation, a land without inhabitants.

If you don’t listen, and if you don’t take it to heart to honor My name,” says Yahweh of Hosts,“ I will send a curse among you, and I will curse your blessings. In fact, I have already begun to curse them because you are not taking it to heart.
