“我所爱的既然行了罪大恶极的事，还有什么资格在我的殿里呢？难道祭肉可以消除你的灾祸，使你得着欢乐吗？”

我所愛者、爾既多行淫亂、在我聖室何為、聖胙豈能除爾罪惡、致爾得脫乎、

我之選民、樂與眾同惡、尚入我殿、以獻聖胙、亦奚以為。

昔我所悅者、而今既多行邪惡、在我殿何為、所獻之聖胙、豈能除爾所樂作之惡乎、

“ What is my beloved doing in my temple as she, with many others, works out her evil schemes? Can consecrated meat avert your punishment? When you engage in your wickedness, then you rejoice.”

“ I love the people of Judah. But they are working out their evil plans along with many others. So what are they doing in my temple? Can meat that is offered to me keep me from punishing you? When you do evil things, you get a lot of pleasure from them.”

What right has my beloved in my house, when she has done many vile deeds? Can even sacrificial flesh avert your doom? Can you then exult?

“ What right do my beloved people have to come to my Temple, when they have done so many immoral things? Can their vows and sacrifices prevent their destruction? They actually rejoice in doing evil!

What right does my beloved have to be in my house, having carried out so many evil schemes? Can holy meat prevent your disaster so you can celebrate?

“ What has My beloved to do in My house, Having done lewd deeds with many? And the holy flesh has passed from you. When you do evil, then you rejoice.

What hath my beloved to do in my house, seeing she hath wrought lewdness with many, and the holy flesh is passed from thee? when thou doest evil, then thou rejoicest.

What right does My beloved have to be in My house, having carried out so many evil schemes? Can holy meat prevent your disaster so you can rejoice?

What hath my beloved to do in mine house,[ seeing] she hath wrought lewdness with many, and the holy flesh is passed from thee? when thou doest evil, then thou rejoicest.

The LORD says to the people of Judah,“ What right do you have to be in my temple, my beloved people? Many of you have done wicked things. Can your acts of treachery be so easily canceled by sacred offerings that you take joy in doing evil even while you make them?

What has my beloved to do in my house, since she has behaved lewdly with many, and the holy flesh has passed from you? When you do evil, then you rejoice.”

Who delight in doing evil And rejoice in the perversity of evil;

To the pure, all things are pure; but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure, but both their mind and their conscience are defiled.

Then the Lord said to me,“ Even if Moses and Samuel were to stand before Me, My heart would not be with this people. Send them away from My presence and have them go!

But to the wicked God says,“ What right do you have to tell of My statutes And to take My covenant in your mouth?

“ Go and proclaim in the ears of Jerusalem, saying,‘ This is what the Lord says:“ I remember regarding you the devotion of your youth, Your love when you were a bride, Your following after Me in the wilderness, Through a land not sown.

“ Behold, you are trusting in deceptive words to no avail.Will you steal, murder, commit adultery, swear falsely, offer sacrifices to Baal, and follow other gods that you have not known,then come and stand before Me in this house which is called by My name, and say,‘ We are saved!’— so that you may do all these abominations?Has this house, which is called by My name, become a den of robbers in your sight? Behold, I Myself have seen it,” declares the Lord.

If someone carries holy meat in the fold of his garment, and touches bread with this fold, or touches cooked food, wine, oil, or any other food, will it become holy?’ ” And the priests answered,“ No.”Then Haggai said,“ If one who is unclean from a corpse touches any of these things, will the latter become unclean?” And the priests answered,“ It will become unclean.”Then Haggai responded and said,“ ‘ So is this people. And so is this nation before Me,’ declares the Lord,‘ and so is every work of their hands; and what they offer there is unclean.

And I saw that for all the adulteries of faithless Israel, I had sent her away and given her a certificate of divorce, yet her treacherous sister Judah did not fear; but she went and prostituted herself also.

But as it is, you boast in your arrogance; all such boasting is evil.

“ Son of man, there were two women, the daughters of one mother;and they prostituted themselves in Egypt. They prostituted themselves in their youth; there their breasts were squeezed and there their virgin breasts were handled.Their names were Oholah the elder and Oholibah her sister. And they became Mine, and they gave birth to sons and daughters. And as for their names, Samaria is Oholah and Jerusalem is Oholibah.“ Oholah prostituted herself while she was Mine; and she lusted after her lovers, after the Assyrians, her neighbors,who were clothed in purple, governors and officials, all of them handsome young men, horsemen riding on horses.She bestowed her obscene practices on them, all of whom were the choicest men of Assyria; and with all whom she lusted after, with all their idols she defiled herself.She did not abandon her obscene practices from the time in Egypt; for in her youth men had slept with her, and they handled her virgin breasts and poured out their obscene practice on her.Therefore, I handed her over to her lovers, to the Assyrians, after whom she lusted.They uncovered her nakedness; they took her sons and her daughters, but they killed her with the sword. So she became a subject of gossip among women, and they executed judgments on her.“ Now her sister Oholibah saw this, yet she was more corrupt in her lust than she, and her obscene practices were more than the prostitution of her sister.She lusted after the Assyrians, governors and officials, the ones near, opulently dressed, horsemen riding on horses, all of them handsome young men.And I saw that she had defiled herself; they both took the same way.So she increased her obscene practices. And she saw men carved on the wall, images of the Chaldeans drawn in bright red,wearing belts around their waists, with flowing turbans on their heads, all of them looking like officers, like the Babylonians in Chaldea, the land of their birth.And when she saw them she lusted after them and sent messengers to them in Chaldea.And the Babylonians came to her to the bed of love and defiled her with their obscene practice. And when she had been defiled by them, she turned away from them in disgust.She exposed her obscene practices and exposed her nakedness; then I turned away from her in disgust, just as I had turned away from her sister in disgust.Yet she multiplied her obscene practices, remembering the days of her youth, when she prostituted herself in the land of Egypt.She lusted after their lovers, whose flesh is like the flesh of donkeys and whose discharge is like the discharge of horses.So you longed for the outrageous sin of your youth, when the Egyptians handled your breasts because of the breasts of your youth.

“ But when the king came in to look over the dinner guests, he saw a man there who was not dressed in wedding clothes,

You built yourself a high place at the beginning of every street and made your beauty abominable, and you spread your legs to every passer by and multiplied your obscene practice.You also committed prostitution with the Egyptians, your lustful neighbors, and multiplied your obscene practice to provoke Me to anger.So behold, I have stretched out My hand against you and cut back your rations. And I turned you over to the desire of those who hate you, the daughters of the Philistines, who are ashamed of your outrageous conduct.Moreover, you committed prostitution with the Assyrians because you were not satisfied; you committed prostitution with them and still were not satisfied.You also multiplied your obscene practice with the land of merchants, Chaldea; yet even with this you were not satisfied.” ’ ”“ How feverish is your heart,” declares the Lord God,“ while you do all these things, the action of a bold prostitute!When you built your shrine at the beginning of every street and made your high place in every public square, in spurning a prostitute’s fee, you were not like a prostitute.You adulteress wife, who takes strangers instead of her husband!Men give gifts to all prostitutes, but you give your gifts to all your lovers and lavish favors on them so that they will come to you from every direction for your obscene practices.So it is the opposite for you from those women in your obscene practices, in that you are not approached for prostitution, and in the fact that you pay a prostitute’s fee, and no fee is paid to you; so you are the opposite.”

Then the Lord said to me,“ Go again, love a woman who is loved by her husband, yet is committing adultery, as the Lord loves the sons of Israel, though they turn to other gods and love raisin cakes.”

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination, How much more when he brings it with evil intent!

Like a maniac who shoots Flaming arrows, arrows, and death,

‘ Return, you faithless sons,’ declares the Lord;‘ For I am a master to you, And I will take you, one from a city and two from a family, And bring you to Zion.’

In relation to the gospel they are enemies on your account, but in relation to God’s choice they are beloved on account of the fathers;

“ What are your many sacrifices to Me?” Says the Lord.“ I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams And the fat of fattened cattle; And I take no pleasure in the blood of bulls, lambs, or goats.When you come to appear before Me, Who requires of you this trampling of My courtyards?Do not go on bringing your worthless offerings, Incense is an abomination to Me. New moon and Sabbath, the proclamation of an assembly— I cannot endure wrongdoing and the festive assembly.I hate your new moon festivals and your appointed feasts, They have become a burden to Me; I am tired of bearing them.So when you spread out your hands in prayer, I will hide My eyes from you; Yes, even though you offer many prayers, I will not be listening. Your hands are covered with blood.

One who turns his ear away from listening to the Law, Even his prayer is an abomination.

“ I have forsaken My house, I have abandoned My inheritance; I have handed the beloved of My soul Over to her enemies.

Doing wickedness is like sport to a fool, And so is wisdom to a person of understanding.

it does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;

And seeing Jesus, he cried out and fell down before Him, and said with a loud voice,“ What business do You have with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You, do not torment me!”

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, But the prayer of the upright is His delight.

This is what the Lord says:“ Where is the certificate of divorce By which I have sent your mother away? Or to whom of My creditors did I sell you? Behold, you were sold for your wrongdoings, And for your wrongful acts your mother was sent away.

God says,“ If a husband divorces his wife And she leaves him And becomes another man’s wife, Will he return to her again? Would that land not be completely defiled? But you are a prostitute with many lovers; Yet you turn to Me,” declares the Lord.“ Raise your eyes to the bare heights and see; Where have you not been violated? You have sat for them by the roads Like an Arab in the desert, And you have defiled a land With your prostitution and your wickedness.
