患難之際、亞哈士王愈犯耶和華、

列國流離之民、當大和會、群聽斯言、木偶之上帝、不能救民、凡輦斯像而禱之者、其愚甚矣。

爾所簡之上帝、爾可籲之、使彼拯爾於難。

我所欲者我必為之、昔我列祖、王公、在猶大諸邑、耶路撒冷逵衢焚香灌奠、奉事天后、當時咸得果腹、所遇亨通、不遘患難、我不焚香灌奠奉事天后、我則缺乏、又遇鋒刃饑饉而亡。諸婦女曰、昔我焚香、灌奠、為餅、以事天后、豈非我夫所許乎。耶利米告諸男女、庶民、曰、爾列祖王公、庶民、爰及爾躬、焚香於猶大諸邑、耶路撒冷逵衢、耶和華鑒察、憶念之、見爾作惡、深堪痛疾不能復忍、故使爾土荒蕪、無人居處、為人詛咒駭異、今日之事為證。然爾焚香、獲罪於耶和華、不聽命令、不遵律例、不守法度、不奉禮儀、故今遭殃。耶和華又告庶民、及眾婦女、曰、猶大眾人、居埃及者、宜聽耶和華言。萬有之主以色列族之上帝耶和華云、爾與婦女、欲行之事、已出於口、曰、我曾發願、焚香灌奠、奉事天后、必償我願、必行所欲、今爾曹宜聽我耶和華言、我指己而誓、必不使居埃及之猶大人崇事我、稱我大名、我意已定、降災爾躬、居埃及之猶大人、使戮於鋒刃、亡於饑饉、滅之殆盡、
