有口却不能言，有眼却不能看，有耳却不能听，有鼻却不能闻，有手却不能摸，有脚却不能走，有喉却不能说话。造它们的要像它们一样，凡靠它们的也必如此。

你们要指明未来的事，使我们知道你们是神明！你们或降福，或降祸，好使我们惊奇，一同观看。看哪，你们属乎虚无，你们的作为也属虚空；那选择你们的是可憎恶的。

祸哉！那对木头说“醒起”，对哑巴石头说“起来”的人！偶像岂能教导人呢？看哪，它以金银包裹，其中并无气息。

彼勒叩拜，尼波屈身；巴比伦的偶像驮在走兽和牲畜背上。你们所抬的成了重驮，使牲畜疲乏。

它得了权柄在第一只兽面前能行奇事，迷惑住在地上的人，告诉他们要为那受过刀伤还活着的兽造个像。又有权柄赐给它，让那只兽的像有生气，并且能说话，又使所有不拜兽像的人都被杀害。

关于吃祭过偶像的食物，我们知道“偶像在世上算不得什么”；也知道“神只有一位，没有别的”。

有口却不能言，有眼却不能看，有耳却不能听，口中也没有气息。造它们的要像它们一样，凡靠它们的也必如此。

“你们从列国逃脱的人，要一同聚集前来。那些抬着雕刻的木偶、祈求不能救人之神明的，毫无知识。

制造偶像的人尽都虚空，他们所喜悦的全无益处；偶像的见证人毫无所见，毫无所知，以致他们羞愧。谁制造神像，铸造偶像？这些都是无益的。
