告诉我们以后会发生什么，好叫我们知道你们是神明。不论降福降祸，显显身手吧，好叫我们一同惊惧！看啊，你们实在算不得什么，你们所做的毫无意义，拜你们的人真是可憎！

对木头说‘醒醒吧’，对哑巴石头说‘起来吧’的人啊，你们有祸了！它们能教导你们吗？看啊，它们外面包金裹银，里面却毫无生命。

彼勒屈膝跪下，尼波弯腰降服。这些巴比伦的偶像成为野兽和牲畜背上的重负，使其疲惫不堪。

它在头一只怪兽面前获准行奇迹，欺骗了普世的人，并吩咐他们为受了刀伤却仍然活着的头一只怪兽塑像。它又获准给怪兽的塑像生命气息，使它不但能说话，还能使所有不敬拜那像的人遭害。

论到吃献给偶像的祭物，我们知道世上的偶像算不得什么，只有一位上帝，此外别无他神。
