Woe is me for my hurt! My wound is severe. But I say,“ Truly this is an infirmity, And I must bear it.”

民说：“祸哉！我受损伤；我的伤痕极其重大。”我却说：“这真是我的痛苦，必须忍受。

祸哉！我受损伤，我的伤痕极其重大。我却说：“这真的是我必须忍受的痛苦。”

祸哉！我受损伤，我的伤痕极其重大。我却说：“这真的是我必须忍受的痛苦。”

我有祸了！因我的创伤难愈。但我说：“这是疾病，我必须忍受。”

因我的损伤，我有祸了！我的创伤不能医治；但我说：“这是我的痛苦，我必须忍受。”

民說：禍哉！我受損傷；我的傷痕極其重大。我卻說：這真是我的痛苦，必須忍受。

禍哉！我受損傷，我的傷痕極其重大。我卻說：「這真的是我必須忍受的痛苦。」

禍哉！我受損傷，我的傷痕極其重大。我卻說：「這真的是我必須忍受的痛苦。」

我有禍了！因我的創傷難癒。但我說：「這是疾病，我必須忍受。」

因我的損傷，我有禍了！我的創傷不能醫治；但我說：“這是我的痛苦，我必須忍受。”

因我的破爛、我有禍啊！我受擊傷很厲害。但是我說：『這究竟是我的創痍，我必須忍受。』

民曰禍哉我也、我受殘害、我受重傷、我曰、是誠我憂、我必承之、

民曰、哀哉、我受傷殘、其痛殊甚、如此憂愁。其何以堪。

民曰、哀哉、我受殘害、我傷甚重、我自言曰、此我當受之患難、我宜忍之、

Woe to me because of my injury! My wound is incurable! Yet I said to myself,“ This is my sickness, and I must endure it.”

How terrible it will be for me! I’ve been wounded! And my wound can’t be healed! In spite of that, I said to myself,“ I’m sick. But I’ll have to put up with it.”

Woe is me because of my hurt! My wound is grievous. But I said,“ Truly this is an affliction, and I must bear it.”

My wound is severe, and my grief is great. My sickness is incurable, but I must bear it.

Woe to me because of my brokenness— I am severely wounded! I exclaimed,“ This is my intense suffering, but I must bear it.”

Woe to me, because of my injury! My wound is incurable. But I said,“ This certainly is a sickness, And I must endure it.”

Woe is me because of my hurt! my wound is grievous: but I said, Truly this is my grief, and I must bear it.

Woe to me because of my brokenness— I am severely wounded! I exclaimed,“ This is my intense suffering, but I must bear it.”

Woe is me for my hurt! my wound is grievous: but I said, Truly this[ is] a grief, and I must bear it.

And I cried out,“ We are doomed! Our wound is severe! We once thought,‘ This is only an illness. And we will be able to bear it!’

Woe is me because of my injury! My wound is serious; but I said,“ Truly this is my grief, and I must bear it.”

I will bear the indignation of the Lord, Because I have sinned against Him, Until He pleads my case And executes justice for me. He will bring me forth to the light; I will see His righteousness.

“ Therefore you shall say this word to them:‘ Let my eyes flow with tears night and day, And let them not cease; For the virgin daughter of my people Has been broken with a mighty stroke, with a very severe blow.

Why should a living man complain, A man for the punishment of his sins?Let us search out and examine our ways, And turn back to the Lord;

“ For I have heard a voice as of a woman in labor, The anguish as of her who brings forth her first child, The voice of the daughter of Zion bewailing herself; She spreads her hands, saying,‘ Woe is me now, for my soul is weary Because of murderers!’

I was mute, I did not open my mouth, Because it was You who did it.

“ Is it nothing to you, all you who pass by? Behold and see If there is any sorrow like my sorrow, Which has been brought on me, Which the Lord has inflicted In the day of His fierce anger.“ From above He has sent fire into my bones, And it overpowered them; He has spread a net for my feet And turned me back; He has made me desolate And faint all the day.“ The yoke of my transgressions was bound; They were woven together by His hands, And thrust upon my neck. He made my strength fail; The Lord delivered me into the hands of those whom I am not able to withstand.“ The Lord has trampled underfoot all my mighty men in my midst; He has called an assembly against me To crush my young men; The Lord trampled as in a winepress The virgin daughter of Judah.“ For these things I weep; My eye, my eye overflows with water; Because the comforter, who should restore my life, Is far from me. My children are desolate Because the enemy prevailed.”Zion spreads out her hands, But no one comforts her; The Lord has commanded concerning Jacob That those around him become his adversaries; Jerusalem has become an unclean thing among them.“ The Lord is righteous, For I rebelled against His commandment. Hear now, all peoples, And behold my sorrow; My virgins and my young men Have gone into captivity.“ I called for my lovers, But they deceived me; My priests and my elders Breathed their last in the city, While they sought food To restore their life.“ See, O Lord, that I am in distress; My soul is troubled; My heart is overturned within me, For I have been very rebellious. Outside the sword bereaves, At home it is like death.“ They have heard that I sigh, But no one comforts me. All my enemies have heard of my trouble; They are glad that You have done it. Bring on the day You have announced, That they may become like me.“ Let all their wickedness come before You, And do to them as You have done to me For all my transgressions; For my sighs are many, And my heart is faint.”

My eyes fail with tears, My heart is troubled; My bile is poured on the ground Because of the destruction of the daughter of my people, Because the children and the infants Faint in the streets of the city.They say to their mothers,“ Where is grain and wine?” As they swoon like the wounded In the streets of the city, As their life is poured out In their mothers’ bosom.How shall I console you? To what shall I liken you, O daughter of Jerusalem? What shall I compare with you, that I may comfort you, O virgin daughter of Zion? For your ruin is spread wide as the sea; Who can heal you?Your prophets have seen for you False and deceptive visions; They have not uncovered your iniquity, To bring back your captives, But have envisioned for you false prophecies and delusions.All who pass by clap their hands at you; They hiss and shake their heads At the daughter of Jerusalem:“ Is this the city that is called‘ The perfection of beauty, The joy of the whole earth’?”All your enemies have opened their mouth against you; They hiss and gnash their teeth. They say,“ We have swallowed her up! Surely this is the day we have waited for; We have found it, we have seen it!”The Lord has done what He purposed; He has fulfilled His word Which He commanded in days of old. He has thrown down and has not pitied, And He has caused an enemy to rejoice over you; He has exalted the horn of your adversaries.Their heart cried out to the Lord,“ O wall of the daughter of Zion, Let tears run down like a river day and night; Give yourself no relief; Give your eyes no rest.“ Arise, cry out in the night, At the beginning of the watches; Pour out your heart like water before the face of the Lord. Lift your hands toward Him For the life of your young children, Who faint from hunger at the head of every street.”“ See, O Lord, and consider! To whom have You done this? Should the women eat their offspring, The children they have cuddled? Should the priest and prophet be slain In the sanctuary of the Lord?“ Young and old lie On the ground in the streets; My virgins and my young men Have fallen by the sword; You have slain them in the day of Your anger, You have slaughtered and not pitied.“ You have invited as to a feast day The terrors that surround me. In the day of the LORD’s anger There was no refugee or survivor. Those whom I have borne and brought up My enemies have destroyed.”

Oh, that my head were waters, And my eyes a fountain of tears, That I might weep day and night For the slain of the daughter of my people!

O Lord, the hope of Israel, All who forsake You shall be ashamed.“ Those who depart from Me Shall be written in the earth, Because they have forsaken the Lord, The fountain of living waters.”

For the hurt of the daughter of my people I am hurt. I am mourning; Astonishment has taken hold of me.

My eyes overflow with rivers of water For the destruction of the daughter of my people.

O my soul, my soul! I am pained in my very heart! My heart makes a noise in me; I cannot hold my peace, Because you have heard, O my soul, The sound of the trumpet, The alarm of war.

And I said,“ This is my anguish; But I will remember the years of the right hand of the Most High.”

And I will wait on the Lord, Who hides His face from the house of Jacob; And I will hope in Him.

She weeps bitterly in the night, Her tears are on her cheeks; Among all her lovers She has none to comfort her. All her friends have dealt treacherously with her; They have become her enemies.

And I said,“ My strength and my hope Have perished from the Lord.”Remember my affliction and roaming, The wormwood and the gall.My soul still remembers And sinks within me.This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope.
