必有鬨嚷聲響到地儘邊，因為永恆主有案件要責罰列國；血肉之人、他必都判罰；惡人呢、他必交與刀劍：永恆主發神諭說。」『萬軍之永恆主這麼說：看吧，必有災禍從這國發出，延到那國；必有大狂風從地之極處激動起來。

『他們若不肯把這杯從你手中接過去喝，你就要對他們說：「萬軍之永恆主這麼說：你們一定要喝！

永恆主這麼說：『看吧，必有一族之民從北方之地而來，必有一個大國被激動，從地之極處來到。

『永恆主這麼說：論到這地方你們說它荒廢，它沒有人，沒有牲口，但在這荒涼無人無居民無牲口的猶大城市和耶路撒冷街上，就在這地方、必還再聽見

願你將你的烈怒倒在不認識你、的外國，和不呼求你名的民族，因為他們吞喫了雅各，吞喫了他、還滅盡他，使他的莊舍荒涼。

婦人在錫安被玷辱，處女在猶大城市被強姦。

永恆主必從遠方、從地儘邊把一國的人帶來像兀鷹突飛猛攫來攻擊你。這一國說的話你不曉得聽，這一國的人鐵面無情，不顧老年人的情面，也不恩待青年人。他必將你牲口所下的、和你土地上的果實喫了，直到將你消滅；連五穀、新酒、新油、幼小的牛、肥嫩的羊、都不給你剩下，直到使你滅亡為止。他必將你圍困在你各城內，直到你所倚靠高大堅固的城牆在你遍地都被攻下；他必將你圍困在你各城內、在永恆主你的上帝所賜給你的遍地。你的仇敵窘迫你、你在被圍困被窘迫時、必喫你腹中的果子、就是永恆主你的上帝所賜給你的兒女的肉。

永恆主發神諭說：以色列家啊，看吧，我必使一國的人從遠方來攻擊你：是個持久不敗的國，是個從古就有的國：這一個國、它的語言你不曉得；他們說甚麼、你不曉得聽。
