When Jotham was told about this, he climbed up on the top of Mount Gerizim and shouted to them,“ Listen to me, citizens of Shechem, so that God may listen to you.

When Jotham heard about this, he climbed to the top of Mount Gerizim and shouted,“ Listen to me, citizens of Shechem! Listen to me if you want God to listen to you!

以色列眾、與其長老、有司、士師、悉立於約匱之左右、與舁主約匱之祭司利未人相對、外邦之客旅土著俱在、其半向向或作在下同基利心山、其半向以八山、循主之僕摩西所命、為以色列人祝福、

釋兇暴之繩、解欺壓之索、釋受虐者、折一切壓人之軛、如是之禁食、始為我所悅、分餅於饑者、納流離之貧民於己家、見裸者則衣之、勿掩面不顧爾之骨肉、則爾之光明、必發如晨光、爾速得醫治、爾之仁義、護爾於前、主之榮光、護爾於後、其時爾祈禱、主必應允、爾呼籲、主必云、我在此、如爾於爾中除壓人之軛、不指摘、不妄言、向饑餓者發仁心、使困苦者得滿其志、則爾光必發於暗、爾暗必變如日午、

爾在患難時禱告我、我必救爾、爾當尊奉我、天主向惡人曰、爾為何傳述我之律法、口講我之盟約、其實爾厭惡我之訓誨、將我之言語、棄置於後、見盜賊即與之同群、又與姦淫之人結交、肆口出惡言、以舌編造詭語、坐而讒譭爾之親兄、誣謗爾之胞弟、爾行此事、我暫時未言、爾以為我與爾無異、其實我必責罰爾、將爾之罪惡、列在爾之目前、

未施矜恤者、被審判時、亦不見矜恤、蓋矜恤必勝審判、○

此僕俯伏拜曰、請主人寛我、我必盡償、其僕之主憐而釋之、且免其債、其僕出、遇一同僕、負己銀一百第拿流、猶太小銀圓約銀一錢執之扼其喉曰、爾所負者、即償我、同僚俯伏求曰、請寛我、我必盡償、不允、乃下之於獄、待償所負、諸同僚見所為、甚不悅、以其事往告主人、其僕之主召之曰、惡哉僕乎、爾所負者、我盡免之、因爾求我也、爾不當憐同僚如我憐爾乎、其主人遂怒、付之獄吏、待其盡償所負、

斯時呼籲我而我不應、尋求我而不得遇、因厭惡知識、不以畏主為悅、

不德律法者、其祈禱為主所厭惡、

塞耳不聽貧人之求、則己有所求、亦不蒙應、

爾舉手禱告、我掩目不顧、爾雖多祈禱、我不俯聽、因爾殺無辜、手滿血跡、

主使我敵遁於我前、憾我之人、我勦滅之、仇敵呼籲、無人施救、即使呼籲主、主亦不應允、
