When Jotham was told about this, he climbed up on the top of Mount Gerizim and shouted to them,“ Listen to me, citizens of Shechem, so that God may listen to you.

Jotham was told about it. So he climbed up on top of Mount Gerizim. He shouted down to them,“ Citizens of Shechem! Listen to me! Then God will listen to you.

When it was told to Jotham, he went and stood on top of Mount Gerizim and cried aloud and said to them,“ Listen to me, you leaders of Shechem, that God may listen to you.

When Jotham heard about this, he climbed to the top of Mount Gerizim and shouted,“ Listen to me, citizens of Shechem! Listen to me if you want God to listen to you!

When they told Jotham, he climbed to the top of Mount Gerizim, raised his voice, and called to them: Listen to me, citizens of Shechem, and may God listen to you:

你們的上帝耶和華帶領你們進入並佔領那片土地時，你們要在基利心山上宣告祝福，在以巴路山上宣告咒詛。

「你們渡過約旦河後，西緬、利未、猶大、以薩迦、約瑟和便雅憫支派要站在基利心山上為民眾祝福；

我們的祖先一向都是在這山上敬拜上帝，你們卻說耶路撒冷才是敬拜的地方。」

所有的以色列人，無論本族人、外族人、長老、官員或審判官，都站在耶和華的約櫃兩旁，面對著抬約櫃的利未祭司。照耶和華的僕人摩西從前祝福他們時的吩咐，他們一半人站在基利心山前，一半人站在以巴路山前。

「『我要的禁食是，除去罪惡的鎖鏈，解開軛上的繩索，折斷一切的軛，使受欺壓的人得到自由，把你們的食物分給饑餓的人，接待無家可歸的窮人，送衣服給赤身露體的人，不躲避求助的親人。如果你們這樣做，你們的光必如晨光照耀，你們的創傷必迅速痊癒，你們的公義必在前方為你們開路，耶和華的榮耀必在後面保護你們。你們求告，我必應允；你們呼求，我必回應。如果你們不再欺壓、指責、譭謗，如果你們給饑餓的人食物，扶助困苦的人，你們的光必照亮黑暗，你們的黑夜必變成正午。

在患難中呼求我，我必拯救你，你必尊崇我。」但上帝對惡人說：「你怎能背誦我的律法，談論我的約？你憎惡我的管教，把我的話拋在腦後。你見了盜賊就與他同流合污，又喜歡與淫亂的人交往。你滿口惡言，謊話連篇，肆意譭謗自己的同胞兄弟。我對你的所作所為默然不語，你就以為我與你是同道。現在我要責備你，當面指出你的罪狀。

因為不憐憫人的會受到無情的審判，但憐憫勝過審判。

那奴僕跪在王面前乞求說，『請寬容我，我會把債務全部還清的。』王可憐他，不但釋放了他，而且免了他全部的債。「可是，那奴僕出去後，遇見一位欠他一百個銀幣的同伴，就揪住同伴，掐著他的喉嚨說，『還我錢！』同伴跪下哀求道，『請寬容我，我會還你的。』「那奴僕卻不肯，竟把同伴送進監獄，直到他還清債務為止。其他的奴僕目睹這一切，都憤憤不平，把這件事告訴了王。「於是，王把那奴僕召來，說，『你這可惡的奴才！你哀求我，我就免了你所有的債。難道你不應該憐憫你的同伴，就像我憐憫你一樣嗎？』王大怒，下令把他交給獄卒受刑，直到他還清全部的債務。

你們呼求我，我也不回答；你們懇切地尋找我，卻找不到。因為你們厭惡知識，不願意敬畏耶和華，

人若不聽從律法，他的禱告也可憎。

掩耳不聽窮人呼求的，他將來求救也無人管。

你們舉手禱告，我必掩面不理。即使你們禱告再多，我也不會聽，因為你們雙手沾滿鮮血。

你使我的仇敵狼狽而逃，我殲滅了恨我的人。他們高聲求救，卻無人搭救；他們呼求耶和華，祂也不應允。
