When Jotham was told about this, he climbed up on the top of Mount Gerizim and shouted to them,“ Listen to me, citizens of Shechem, so that God may listen to you.

Jotham was told about it. So he climbed up on top of Mount Gerizim. He shouted down to them,“ Citizens of Shechem! Listen to me! Then God will listen to you.

When it was told to Jotham, he went and stood on top of Mount Gerizim and cried aloud and said to them,“ Listen to me, you leaders of Shechem, that God may listen to you.

When Jotham heard about this, he climbed to the top of Mount Gerizim and shouted,“ Listen to me, citizens of Shechem! Listen to me if you want God to listen to you!

When they told Jotham, he climbed to the top of Mount Gerizim, raised his voice, and called to them: Listen to me, citizens of Shechem, and may God listen to you:

你们的上帝耶和华带领你们进入并占领那片土地时，你们要在基利心山上宣告祝福，在以巴路山上宣告咒诅。

“你们渡过约旦河后，西缅、利未、犹大、以萨迦、约瑟和便雅悯支派要站在基利心山上为民众祝福；

我们的祖先一向都是在这山上敬拜上帝，你们却说耶路撒冷才是敬拜的地方。”

所有的以色列人，无论本族人、外族人、长老、官员或审判官，都站在耶和华的约柜两旁，面对着抬约柜的利未祭司。照耶和华的仆人摩西从前祝福他们时的吩咐，他们一半人站在基利心山前，一半人站在以巴路山前。

“‘我要的禁食是，除去罪恶的锁链，解开轭上的绳索，折断一切的轭，使受欺压的人得到自由，把你们的食物分给饥饿的人，接待无家可归的穷人，送衣服给赤身露体的人，不躲避求助的亲人。如果你们这样做，你们的光必如晨光照耀，你们的创伤必迅速痊愈，你们的公义必在前方为你们开路，耶和华的荣耀必在后面保护你们。你们求告，我必应允；你们呼求，我必回应。如果你们不再欺压、指责、毁谤，如果你们给饥饿的人食物，扶助困苦的人，你们的光必照亮黑暗，你们的黑夜必变成正午。

在患难中呼求我，我必拯救你，你必尊崇我。”但上帝对恶人说：“你怎能背诵我的律法，谈论我的约？你憎恶我的管教，把我的话抛在脑后。你见了盗贼就与他同流合污，又喜欢与淫乱的人交往。你满口恶言，谎话连篇，肆意毁谤自己的同胞兄弟。我对你的所作所为默然不语，你就以为我与你是同道。现在我要责备你，当面指出你的罪状。

因为不怜悯人的会受到无情的审判，但怜悯胜过审判。

那奴仆跪在王面前乞求说，‘请宽容我，我会把债务全部还清的。’王可怜他，不但释放了他，而且免了他全部的债。“可是，那奴仆出去后，遇见一位欠他一百个银币的同伴，就揪住同伴，掐着他的喉咙说，‘还我钱！’同伴跪下哀求道，‘请宽容我，我会还你的。’“那奴仆却不肯，竟把同伴送进监狱，直到他还清债务为止。其他的奴仆目睹这一切，都愤愤不平，把这件事告诉了王。“于是，王把那奴仆召来，说，‘你这可恶的奴才！你哀求我，我就免了你所有的债。难道你不应该怜悯你的同伴，就像我怜悯你一样吗？’王大怒，下令把他交给狱卒受刑，直到他还清全部的债务。

你们呼求我，我也不回答；你们恳切地寻找我，却找不到。因为你们厌恶知识，不愿意敬畏耶和华，

人若不听从律法，他的祷告也可憎。

掩耳不听穷人呼求的，他将来求救也无人管。

你们举手祷告，我必掩面不理。即使你们祷告再多，我也不会听，因为你们双手沾满鲜血。

你使我的仇敌狼狈而逃，我歼灭了恨我的人。他们高声求救，却无人搭救；他们呼求耶和华，祂也不应允。
