王不聽民所求、是事由於上帝、以應耶和華藉示羅人亞希雅、告尼八子耶羅波安之言、

耶和華曰、誰願誘以色列王亞哈、往基列拉末而隕沒乎、其一曰如此、其一曰如彼、後有神出、立於耶和華前曰、我願誘之、曰、何以誘之、曰、我將出為誑言之神、在其眾先知之口、曰、爾往為之、必成其事、今耶和華以誑言之神、置爾眾先知之口、耶和華有言、將加禍於爾、

棘曰、若誠膏我為王治爾、則來匿我蔭下、不然、則願火自棘出、燬利巴嫩之香柏、今爾立亞比米勒為王、如爾所為、果誠且義、善待耶路巴力及其家、酬其夙恩、則可喜悅、

故上帝施以乖謬、致信誑言、俾凡不信真理、而悅不義者服鞫、○

自是以後、掃羅見大衛、則睚眦之、○翌日、上帝使惡神大臨掃羅、遂在室中發狂言、大衛鼓琴如平日、掃羅手執戟、

否則願火自亞比米勒出、燬示劍人及米羅族、亦願火自示劍人及米羅族出、燬亞比米勒、
