God stirred up animosity between Abimelek and the citizens of Shechem so that they acted treacherously against Abimelek.

Then God stirred up trouble between Abimelek and the citizens of Shechem. So they turned against Abimelek. They decided not to follow him anymore.

And God sent an evil spirit between Abimelech and the leaders of Shechem, and the leaders of Shechem dealt treacherously with Abimelech,

你們這些毀滅別人、自己還未被毀滅的人有禍了！等你們毀滅完了，就毀滅你們。你們這些欺詐別人、自己還未被欺詐的人有禍了！等你們欺詐完了，就欺詐你們。

耶和華使錯謬的靈進入他們當中，使他們像又嘔又吐、東倒西歪的醉漢，做什麼都錯誤百出。

「我必使埃及人彼此為敵——手足相殘，鄰居互鬥，城邑相爭，邦國互攻。

耶和華問他用什麼方法，他說，『我要做謊言之靈，進入他眾先知的口中。』耶和華說，『你必能成功，就這樣做吧。』現在，耶和華已經把謊言之靈放進這些先知口中，耶和華已決意降禍給你。」

耶和華的靈離開了掃羅，有個邪靈從耶和華那裡來折磨他。掃羅的臣僕對他說：「現在有個邪靈從上帝那裡來折磨你，你可以吩咐跟前的臣僕去找一個善於彈琴的人來。邪靈從上帝那裡來到你身上的時候，他為你彈琴，你就會好。」

因為你們怎樣論斷別人，也必照樣被論斷；你們用什麼尺度衡量別人，也要用什麼尺度衡量你們。

王不聽百姓的請求。這事出於耶和華上帝，為要應驗祂藉示羅人亞希雅先知對尼八的兒子耶羅波安說的話。

耶和華說，『誰願意去引誘以色列王亞哈到基列的拉末去送死呢？』眾天軍議論紛紛。後來，有一個靈站出來對耶和華說他願意去。耶和華問他用什麼方法，他說，『我要做謊言之靈，進入他眾先知的口中。』耶和華說，『你必能成功，就這樣做吧。』現在，耶和華已經把謊言之靈放進這些先知口中，耶和華已決意降禍給你。」

荊棘回答說，『倘若你們誠心立我為你們的王，就投靠在我的蔭下吧；不然，願火從荊棘中冒出來吞噬黎巴嫩的香柏樹。』「現在你們立亞比米勒為王，光明正大嗎？你們有沒有善待耶路·巴力和他一家？有沒有按他的功績對待他？

上帝就讓他們是非不辨，去相信那些虛假的謊言，使一切不相信真理、反喜愛不義的人都被定罪。

王不聽民眾的請求。這事是出於耶和華的旨意，為要應驗祂藉示羅人亞希雅先知對尼八的兒子耶羅波安說的話。

掃羅從此對大衛起了嫉妒之心。第二天，從上帝那裡來的邪靈突然降在掃羅身上，他就在屋子裡叫鬧不停，大衛照常為他彈琴。掃羅當時手上拿著矛，

否則，願亞比米勒燒滅你們示劍人和米羅人，也願你們示劍人和米羅人燒滅亞比米勒。」
