In this way, God punished Abimelech for the evil he had done against his father by murdering his seventy brothers.God also punished the men of Shechem for all their evil. So the curse of Jotham son of Gideon was fulfilled.

O deceptive tongue, what will God do to you? How will he increase your punishment?You will be pierced with sharp arrows and burned with glowing coals.

Your tongue cuts like a sharp razor; you’re an expert at telling lies.You love evil more than good and lies more than truth.
