荆棘回答说：‘你们若诚诚实实地膏我为王，就要投在我的荫下；不然，愿火从荆棘里出来，烧灭黎巴嫩的香柏树。’

这样，神报应亚比米勒向他父亲所行的恶，就是杀了弟兄七十个人的恶。示剑人的一切恶，神也都报应在他们头上；耶路巴力的儿子约坦的咒诅归到他们身上了。

诡诈的舌头啊，要给你什么呢？要拿什么加给你呢？就是勇士的利箭和罗腾木的炭火。

三百人就吹角，耶和华使全营的人用刀互相击杀，逃到西利拉的伯哈示他，直逃到靠近他巴的亚伯米何拉。

你发怒的时候，要使他们如在炎热的火炉中。耶和华要在他的震怒中吞灭他们；那火要把他们烧尽了。你必从世上灭绝他们的子孙，从人间灭绝他们的后裔。

神使恶魔降在亚比米勒和示剑人中间，示剑人就以诡诈待亚比米勒。

愿火炭落在他们身上！愿他们被丢在火中，抛在深坑里，不能再起来。

众人方唱歌赞美的时候，耶和华就派伏兵击杀那来攻击犹大人的亚扪人、摩押人，和西珥山人，他们就被打败了。因为亚扪人和摩押人起来，击杀住西珥山的人，将他们灭尽；灭尽住西珥山的人之后，他们又彼此自相击杀。

勇士啊，你为何以作恶自夸？神的慈爱是常存的。你的舌头邪恶诡诈，好像剃头刀，快利伤人。你爱恶胜似爱善，又爱说谎，不爱说公义。细拉诡诈的舌头啊，你爱说一切毁灭的话！神也要毁灭你，直到永远；他要把你拿去，从你的帐棚中抽出，从活人之地将你拔出。细拉

愿你按着他们所做的，并他们所行的恶事待他们。愿你照着他们手所做的待他们，将他们所应得的报应加给他们。
