“ Finally, all the trees spoke to a bush that had thorns. They said,‘ Come and be our king.’

众树对荆棘说：‘请你来作我们的王。’

众树对荆棘说：‘请你来作王治理我们！’

最后，所有的树木都对荆棘说，‘你来做我们的王。’

于是众树都对荆棘说：‘请你来作王统治我们吧。’

眾樹對荊棘說：『請你來作我們的王。』

眾樹對荊棘說：『請你來作王治理我們！』

眾樹對荊棘說：『請你來作王治理我們！』

最後，所有的樹木都對荊棘說，『你來做我們的王。』

於是眾樹都對荊棘說：‘請你來作王統治我們吧。’

眾樹對荊棘說：「請來作王統治我們。」

諸樹謂棘曰、爾來治我、

諸樹謂棘曰、汝其轄我。

諸樹謂棘曰、請爾為我之王、

Then all the trees said to the bramble,‘ You come and reign over us.’

“ Then all the trees finally turned to the thornbush and said,‘ Come, you be our king!’

Finally, all the trees said to the bramble,“ Come and reign over us.”

Then all the trees said to the bramble,‘ You, come, reign over us!’

“ Then all the trees said to the bramble,‘ You come and reign over us!’

Then said all the trees unto the bramble, Come thou, and reign over us.

Finally, all the trees said to the bramble,“ Come and reign over us.”

Then said all the trees unto the bramble, Come thou,[ and] reign over us.

“ So all the trees said to the thornbush,‘ You come and be our king!’

“ Then all the trees said to the bramble,‘ Come and reign over us.’

But Jehoash, the king of Israel, answered Amaziah, the king of Judah. Jehoash said,“ A thorn bush in Lebanon sent a message to a cedar tree there. The thorn bush said,‘ Give your daughter to be married to my son.’ Then a wild animal in Lebanon came along. It crushed the thorn bush by walking on it.
