They also failed to show any loyalty to the family of Jerub- Baal( that is, Gideon) in spite of all the good things he had done for them.

Jerub- Baal had done many good things for the Israelites. But they weren’t faithful to his family. Jerub- Baal was another name for Gideon.

and they did not show steadfast love to the family of Jerubbaal( that is, Gideon) in return for all the good that he had done to Israel.

They did not show kindness to the house of Jerubbaal( that is, Gideon) for all the good he had done for Israel.

nor did they show kindness to the household of Jerubbaal( that is, Gideon) in accordance with all the good that he had done for Israel.

nor did they show kindness to the house of Jerubbaal( Gideon) in accordance with the good he had done for Israel.

neither showed they kindness to the house of Jerubbaal, who is Gideon, according to all the goodness which he had showed unto Israel.

They did not show kindness to the house of Jerubbaal( that is, Gideon) for all the good he had done for Israel.

Jotham continued,“ Now make sure you have acted honorably and in good faith by making Abimelech your king, and that you have done right by Gideon and all of his descendants. Have you treated him with the honor he deserves for all he accomplished?For he fought for you and risked his life when he rescued you from the Midianites.But today you have revolted against my father and his descendants, killing his seventy sons on one stone. And you have chosen his slave woman’s son, Abimelech, to be your king just because he is your relative.“ If you have acted honorably and in good faith toward Gideon and his descendants today, then may you find joy in Abimelech, and may he find joy in you.

He went to his father’s home at Ophrah, and there, on one stone, they killed all seventy of his half brothers, the sons of Gideon. But the youngest brother, Jotham, escaped and hid.

There was a small town with only a few people, and a great king came with his army and besieged it.A poor, wise man knew how to save the town, and so it was rescued. But afterward no one thought to thank him.
