以法蓮人對基甸說：『你去和米甸人交戰，沒有招我們一同去，為甚麼這樣待我們呢？』他們就和基甸極力吵鬧。

以法莲人对基甸说：“你去与米甸人争战，没有招我们同去，为什么这样待我们呢？”他们就与基甸大大地争吵。

Now the Ephraimites asked Gideon,“ Why have you treated us like this? Why didn’t you call us when you went to fight Midian?” And they challenged him vigorously.

The men of Ephraim asked Gideon,“ Why have you treated us like this? Why didn’t you ask us to help you when you went out to fight against Midian?” In anger they challenged Gideon.

Then the men of Ephraim said to him,“ What is this that you have done to us, not to call us when you went to fight against Midian?” And they accused him fiercely.

Then the people of Ephraim asked Gideon,“ Why have you treated us this way? Why didn’t you send for us when you first went out to fight the Midianites?” And they argued heatedly with Gideon.

The men of Ephraim said to him,“ Why have you done this to us, not calling us when you went to fight against the Midianites?” And they argued with him violently.

Then the men of Ephraim said to Gideon,“ What is this thing that you have done to us, not calling upon us when you went to fight against Midian?” And they quarreled with him vehemently.

Now the men of Ephraim said to him,“ Why have you done this to us by not calling us when you went to fight with the Midianites?” And they reprimanded him sharply.

And the men of Ephraim said unto him, Why hast thou served us thus, that thou calledst us not, when thou wentest to fight with Midian? And they did chide with him sharply.

The men of Ephraim said to him,“ Why have you done this to us, not calling us when you went to fight against the Midianites?” And they argued with him violently.

The Ephraimites said to him,“ Why have you done such a thing to us? You did not summon us when you went to fight the Midianites!” They argued vehemently with him.

The men of Ephraim said to him,“ Why have you treated us this way, that you didn’t call us when you went to fight with Midian?” They rebuked him sharply.

當下以色列眾人來見王，對王說：『我們的族弟兄猶大人為甚麼偷偷把王和王的家眷並跟隨王的人接過約但河來呢？』

我又看一切勞碌和各樣工作上的技巧都是人對鄰舍羨慕之表現：這也是虛空，也是捕風。

真的，苦惱殺害的是愚妄人，妒憤害死是癡獃人。

以法蓮人應召而集，向着撒分前進，對耶弗他說：『你過去和亞捫人交戰，為甚麼沒有招我們和你同去呢？我們要用火燒你和你的房屋。』耶弗他對他們說：『我和我人民跟亞捫人爭鬪得很厲害；我曾經向你們呼救，你們竟沒有拯救我脫離他們的手。我見你們沒有拯救我，我就冒險拚命，過去攻擊亞捫人；永恆主居然將他們交在我手掌中；你們今日為甚麼上我這裏來攻打我呢？』於是耶弗他把基列所有的人集合了來，跟以法蓮人交戰；基列的人擊打了以法蓮人、是因為以法蓮人曾說：『你們基列人在以法蓮與瑪拿西之間、不過是以法蓮中的逃亡人罷了。』基列人把守着約但河各渡口，不容以法蓮人過去。以法蓮逃亡的人若說：『容我過去』，基列的人就問他們說：『你是不是以法蓮人？』他們若說不是，基列人就對他說：『你說示播列』；以法蓮人因為發不出準確的字音來，便說『西播列』；基列人就把他抓住，在約但河渡口宰殺了。那時以法蓮人之中倒斃了四萬二千人。

『上帝切慕他所安置在我們裏面居住的靈、至於狂熱』你們想這一句經是空說的麼？不，他還賜更大的恩呢；故此經上說：『上帝敵擋狂傲的人，賜恩給謙卑的人』。
