蓋爾曹詳知主日將至、如盜之乘夜而來、

中夜有呼云、新娶者至矣、爾出迎之、

基甸分三百人為三隊、以角與空瓶付於各人手、瓶內藏火炬、

爾必擊之以鐵杖、碎之如陶器、

天將旦時、主自雲柱火柱中、俯視伊及軍、亂其隊伍、

主曰、我來、如盜猝至、凡警醒守衣、免其裸身現醜者有福、
