The Midianites, the Amalekites and all the other eastern peoples had settled in the valley, thick as locusts. Their camels could no more be counted than the sand on the seashore.

The Midianites had set up their camp in the valley. So had the Amalekites and all the other tribes from the east. There were so many of them that they looked like huge numbers of locusts. Like the grains of sand on the seashore, their camels couldn’t be counted.

And the Midianites and the Amalekites and all the people of the East lay along the valley like locusts in abundance, and their camels were without number, as the sand that is on the seashore in abundance.

The armies of Midian, Amalek, and the people of the east had settled in the valley like a swarm of locusts. Their camels were like grains of sand on the seashore— too many to count!

Now the Midianites, Amalekites, and all the people of the east had settled down in the valley like a swarm of locusts, and their camels were as innumerable as the sand on the seashore.

Now the Midianites, the Amalekites, and all the people of the east were lying in the valley as numerous as locusts; and their camels were without number, as numerous as the sand on the seashore.

Now the Midianites, Amalekites, and the people from the east covered the valley like a swarm of locusts. Their camels could not be counted; they were as innumerable as the sand on the seashore.

The Midianites and the Amalekites and all the children of the east lay along in the valley like locusts for multitude; and their camels were without number, as the sand which is on the seashore for multitude.

那時西巴和撒慕拿，以及跟隨他們的軍隊都在加各，約有一萬五千人，是東邊的人全軍所剩下的，因為拿刀戰死的約有十二萬人。

因為那些人帶着他們的牲畜和帳棚上來，像蝗蟲那樣多；人和駱駝無數，都進入境內，毀壞全地。

他們和他們的眾軍都出來，一大隊人馬，多如海邊的沙，並有極多的戰車戰馬。

每當以色列人撒種之後，米甸、亞瑪力和東邊的人都上來攻打他們，

耶和華啊，我的敵人何其增多！許多人起來攻擊我。

萬民哪，任憑你們行惡，終必毀滅；遠方的眾人哪，當側耳而聽！任憑你們束腰，終必毀滅；你們束起腰來，終必毀滅。任憑你們籌算甚麼，終必無效；不管你們講定甚麼，總不成立；因為神與我們同在。

君王不能因兵多得勝，勇士不能因力大得救。

列邦圍繞我，我靠耶和華的名必剿滅他們。他們圍繞我，圍困我，我靠耶和華的名必剿滅他們。他們如同蜜蜂一般地圍繞我，他們熄滅，好像燒荊棘的火；我靠耶和華的名，必剿滅他們。

那時，所有的米甸人、亞瑪力人和東邊的人都聚集在一起，過了河，在耶斯列平原安營。

所羅門的智慧超過所有東方人的智慧，和埃及人一切的智慧。

古實人謝拉率領一百萬軍兵，三百輛戰車，出來攻擊猶大人，到了瑪利沙。亞撒出去迎戰，在瑪利沙的洗法谷彼此擺陣。亞撒呼求耶和華－他的神說：「耶和華啊，在強弱之間，惟有你能幫助。耶和華－我們的神啊，求你幫助我們，因為我們仰賴你，奉你的名來抵擋這大軍。耶和華啊，你是我們的神，不要讓人勝過你。」於是耶和華擊打古實人，使他們敗在亞撒和猶大人面前，古實人就逃跑了。
