靠着那給我能力的、我總有力量應付萬事。

基甸到了，只見有一個人正向他的同伴敘說着一個夢；他說：『我作了一個夢，見有一塊大麥餅輥進米甸營中，來到帳棚，將帳棚擊倒，帳棚就翻轉倒壞了。』他的同伴回答說：『這不是別的，乃是以色列人約阿施的兒子基甸的刀；上帝已把米甸和全營交在他手中了。』基甸聽見那夢這樣的敘說和講解，就敬拜上帝，回到以色列營中，說：『起來，永恆主已把米甸營交在你們手中了。』

你們要使軟弱的手強壯起來，使走不動的膝蓋穩健。要對心着急的人說：『要剛強，不要懼怕！看哪，你們的上帝！必來伸冤，必行神威的報應！他必親自來拯救你們。

他們歡歡喜喜地守除酵之節七天，因為永恆主使他們歡喜，又使亞述王的心轉向他們，而加強他們的手去作以色列上帝之殿的工程。

他對我說：『我的恩是夠你用的；因為能力是在軟弱上才顯得完全的。』所以我頂喜歡、寧可拿種種軟弱來誇口，好讓基督的能力來住在我身上。故此我為基督的緣故、就以種種的軟弱、凌辱、艱難、逼迫和困迫、為可喜悅；因為我甚麼時候軟弱，我甚麼時候就有能力而剛強。

約拿單說：『看吧，我們要過去、到那些人那裏去，讓他們看見我們。他們若這樣對我們說：「你們且止住，等我們到你們接觸」，那麼、我們就在我們的地方站住，不上他們那裏去。他們若這樣說：「你們上我們這裏來吧！」那麼我們就上去；因為永恆主將他們交在我們手裏：這就是給了我們的兆頭。』

掃羅的兒子約拿單起身，往何列沙去見大衛，鼓勵他，使他的手靠着上帝而剛強；

駐防營的人應時對約拿單和拿軍器的護兵喊着說：『你們上我們這裏來吧！有一件事我們要給你們知道。』約拿單就對拿軍器的護兵說：『你跟着我上去，因為永恆主將他們交在以色列人手裏了。』

我向哪一個少女說：「請放下你的水瓶來，給我水喝」；她若說：「請喝；我也要給你的駱駝喝」，願那少女就做你所審定給你僕人以撒的妻子；這樣、我便知道你施慈愛給我主人了。』

所以上帝領人民繞道而行，走曠野蘆葦海的路：以色列人出埃及地是列陣上去的。

最後的話，你們要在主裏、靠他力量的權能作剛強的人。

求他按他榮耀之豐富、藉着他的靈、使你們內心的人因大能而剛強，

他們都要使我懼怕，意思是說：『他們的手會從這工作上發軟下來，以致工程作不了。』但現在呢、加強我的手吧。
