得聞敵言、則有勇力、可下攻營、遂攜僕普拉而往、至其營隅、近於行伍、

聽眾所言、後即遇敵、可強乃志。其田與其僕部喇遂下、至營之極處、近於行伍。

爾聞米甸人所言、後必有膽、下而攻營、基甸與僕普拉遂下、至營之邊、近於隊伍、

靠著賜我力量的那位，我凡事都能做。

基甸到了那裡，聽見一個人對同伴說：「我做了個夢，夢見一個大麥餅滾進我們的營中，把一個帳篷撞翻在地。」他的同伴說：「那不是別的，正是以色列人約阿施的兒子基甸的刀，上帝把米甸人和整個軍營都交在他手中了。」基甸聽了這夢和夢的解釋，就俯伏敬拜上帝。他回到以色列人的營中，大聲喊道：「起來吧，耶和華已經把米甸軍營交在你們手中了。」

你們要使軟弱的人強壯，使雙腿無力的人站穩。要對膽怯的人說：「你們要剛強，不要懼怕。看啊，你們的上帝必來拯救你們，為你們復仇，施行報應。」

他們歡歡喜喜地守除酵節七天，因為耶和華使亞述王對他們心存善意，幫助他們重建以色列上帝的殿。

但祂說：「我的恩典足夠你用，因為我的能力在人的軟弱上更顯得全備。」所以，我更喜歡誇耀自己的軟弱，好讓基督的能力蔭庇我。因此，為了基督的緣故，我欣然面對軟弱、凌辱、迫害、艱難和困苦，因為我軟弱的時候也正是我剛強的時候。

約拿單說：「我們去他們那邊，故意讓他們發現。如果他們說，『站住，等我們去你們那裡！』我們就待在原地，不去他們那裡。但如果他們說，『你們來我們這裡！』我們就去，因為那表示耶和華已經把他們交在我們手裡了。」

掃羅的兒子約拿單去何利沙見大衛，鼓勵大衛堅定地信靠上帝。

駐軍對約拿單和拿兵器的人大喊：「上來，我們要教訓教訓你們。」約拿單就對拿兵器的人說：「跟著我爬上去，耶和華已經把他們交在以色列人手裡了。」

如果我對哪個少女說『請放下你的水罐，讓我喝點水』，如果她說『請喝，我也打水給你的駱駝喝』，願那女子做你為自己的僕人以撒選定的妻子。這樣，我可以知道你施恩給我的主人了。」

所以，上帝領他們繞道而行，走曠野的路，前往紅海。以色列人離開埃及時都帶著兵器。

最後，你們要靠著主和祂的大能大力作剛強的人，

祈求祂按照自己豐富的榮耀，藉著祂的靈，以大能使你們內在的生命剛強起來，

因為他們想恐嚇我們，以為我們會嚇得手發軟，無法完成工程。但上帝啊，求你使我的手有力量！
